I got one out of habit, before I realized they're no longer really needed.
When I put my subframe braces on my 4th gen, OMG!
This, nothing but cosmetics

So it adds extra unnecessary weight.

Maybe 5 pounds. I’d say that’s pretty negligible.

If you race competitively, sure maybe. If 5 pounds bothers you...don't put one on.

Let’s see I deleted the suitcase muffler and I am sure I am under the factory setting curb weight with the added strut tower brace. You can always get rid of that factory baffle and cabin hose enhancer for increased engine volume that’s really not needed. I would also suggest a nice hot cup of coffee an hour before your ride.

There’s lots more you can get rid of in the trunk that you will never use, we have road side assistance for a few years.

To the Op, if you want and like the look of the strut tower brace then install one! It’s your Camaro to do with as you please to make it your own. As others have said, the Coupe doesn’t really need one due to the strength of the chassis but again it’s your Camaro!

I put one on my SS and I'm sure I got .1g more on the exit ramps and felt like at least 30 more HP.
