I think Iíll use this instead of an on and off switch. (Or something similar)

Yes that should work. You should mount it to the right of steering wheel on the dash where other switches go. Unless you already have something there. But then I would find a 12 volt dimmer switch that blends with the car.

Since I’m not using an on/off switch I have the perfect spot for that...it’ll be out of the way...

I’ve searched everywhere and it’s hard to believe I’m the first person to think of doing this.

Awesome! I think I may be the first person to bypass pac swc and dealer programming to wire up a steering wheel control that was not even originally equipped and the onstar buttons to work on my android radio. So keep up the good work and hope others follow so we can do more to our cars!

Yes that shows to be the correct one. Just remember to leave enough for any mishaps or it you ever wanna revert back. Make sure to check voltage also but check with dimmer turned all the way up or full on.

Iím all ready to go...now just waiting for it to cool off some...

I think Iím going mount the switch on the center side cover by the drivers right knee close to the seat...itís flush with the surface and out of the way but easy to reach.

Since itís lit, itíll be easy to find on that rare occasion you ever want to dim or turn off the accent lighting.
