C6 Z06 curb weight with 5/8 tank of fuel- 3170lbs (Certified scale Z06 forum)
'14-'15 Z/28 curb weight 3820lbs (numerous sources)

Difference 650lbs- .6-.7sec

C6Z06 gearing in transmission is the same but the final drive is 3.42. Z/28 is 3.91. That may be worth .1-.2 (advantage Z/28). Pirelli Trofeo R tires vs non R comp is "up in the air" if there is an advantage. So, it looks to be on paper "Plausible". 11.13+.7= 11.83 + lack of skill factor .1= 11.93 on a perfect air day.

That being said, I'm going to get an 11.99 stock on stock tires to bury this BS talk. Ranger at MIR ran an 11.13 on stock tires in his '05 C6 Z06 so do the math that it is indeed possible. I am not the driver Ranger is, however, there is a .87 sec cushion for weight and driver ability. The Z/28 tires are better than a stock C6 Z06 but the weight delta is 600 lbs ish in favor of the Z06. Ranger only weighs 150lbs soaking wet. Track opens in two weeks weaher permitting...we will see.
If its BS talk, why hasn't any one done it? What if you manage a 12.2 or 12.3, would it still be BS? Also theres no such thing as on 05 c6 z06..

sorry...first year was '06 Z06. Ranger's car was an '06....my mistake. Why hasn't anyone done it? That is a simple question and there is a simple answer. Even with ZL1s, not many people take cars to the dragstrip even though they talk lots of garbage and true BS. As it is stated in other forums, many people run their mouths but rarely run their cars. So, with a limited number of cars and inherent collectibility, the Z/28 is much more likely to be seen at a local show vs a dragstrip. Some guys have run their Z/28s at the road course with much success, and I applaud their efforts as they are using the car as intended. 6spd cars also take skill to launch properly and get down the track and only a very few 6spd manual ZL1s have posted their e.t./mph data. The Z/28 did not hit the streets until middle to end of '14 and in my area the tracks shut down between Nov and Feb causing a huge lapse of time people may run their car. What if I don't hit 11.99? If I can't get it, I suppose all of my theoretical time possibilities are BS. Hell, I think it will be fun to try anyways. For that matter, why are you so difficult? I think I have proven my ability to extract e.t.s with minimal mods in many cars, not only my ZL1.

The Z/28 hasn't been out for two years either. Most people didn't get their hands on the 440 '14 Zs until mid 2014 and most of these went into collector's garages. Many '15 cars are still on dealer lots and are not moving because the Z/28 is perceived as too expensive. My local dealers have them collecting dust with $78k on their window stickers. Forum members here that have listed their cars # are very low. Check out the sticky...

1.5 years if we are getting technical. Either way it hasnt been done. If you are able to do it in stock form my hats off to you that would be truly impressive. But I have my doubts and just like you have yet to seen it be done.

I think it's safe to say that a zl1 or z28 in the hands of an exceptional driver on the right day with the right 60 ft time could touch 11.9x. Same could be said about the c7, but power to weight says the zl1 has the slight advantage. None of these cars has a real home in the 11s stock.

It is beyond me and makes no sense why no stock manual ZL1 has posted an 11.9

1.5 years?? Skylane765 here has car #13 and he didn't get it until 5/15/2014 so it hasn't even been a year yet. It is 2/21/2015 isn't it? Yes, the magazines have been thrashing the preproduction cars for months before consumers had them in their garages. I can't get anyone with a Z/28 to comment on their cruising water temps, and you want a 1/4 mile time...LOL!

I know someone did post an 11.6 recently, but he was on drag radials.

I want? This thread is about quarter mile times.. Don't take offense to what hasn't happened yet. No 11 sec times have been made, and Im not comparing to zl1s either I don't even have the car anymore. When you can make an 11 second pass, like you claim the car can do, in STOCK form, then you can come and post it here. Which is what the thread is about.

My 300 SRT goes 12.40 bone stock at 114 with 480 hp and weights around 4400 lbs with no driver. If the Z28 doesn't go into the 11's stock its a definitely not worth the money.
The 1/4 mile time on the Z/28 and basing it's worth on that only isn't fair to the car. It's not built or advertised as a 1/4 mile drag car.

A 1/4 thread about a purposely build 75k track car....

So what's next....a topic about the luxury interior of the Z/28? lol
