Thanks for your input. I'm hoping to see a ~10% drop in 2018 prices locally after the 2019 announcement. I had a long commute when I bought my car and that steered me towards the V6. I kind of screwed up last month and test drove a 2015 ZL1 (super fun). My car seems so heavy and slow now.

I hate to be a negative nancy, but the announcement of the 19s alone is not going to change the price of the 2018s you are seeing. The one thing you need to keep an eye out for are manufacturer rebates / dealer discounts / red tags. Those could happen any time, and may or may not be related at all to the announcement of the 2019s. (for instance, we just bought a 2018 GMC terrain that had multiple rebates and discounts and got a whopping 28% off msrp) It should be pretty normal even right now, to see prices on Camaro's marked 5 - 10% off (more or less). If you are looking for another 10%, its going to take something like a red tag sale or stackable rebates/discounts to get there.

As we move closer to the 2019s actually hitting lots, then I'd expect to see more offers on the 2018, but the longer you wait, the less options you'll have on the lots. If there are good deals now, and you are ready, don't wait (unless you want to see what the 2019 offers over the 18s)

+1

OP your best deal on an '18 will be end of the year closeouts where you might find some with a 20% off red tag.

Sound advice. I'm tracking the average cost for the Camaro with the options I want. This will help me recognize a good deal so I can jump on it in time. Right now, I'm seeing dealer discounts (some only $1k off msrp). I'll keep an eye out for stacked discounts or the red tag discount.

Thank you. I'm ready to make the trade today so I'll keep my eye open for red tag discounts and know that price is as good of a price as I'll get. Then strike when the iron is hot.

Crazy that GM authority people make a living off of knowing nearly ZERO, so many of their articles are regurgitation.

It’s a mid gen refresh.
Front and rear fascias and lights
Maybe new paint
Maybe new wheels
Possibly a decontented SS for an entry level V8
I wouldn’t expect more than that

I’m happy to hear the SS is going with a regular heat extractor. I never did like the nostrils.

Do you think they will offer the A10 with the refresh?

I'm not expecting any engine updates for SS trim level. 2019 Vette is out and it's rolling on with LT1.

They'll keep trucking with LT1 and maybe the 10 speed. Nor behind competition in acceleration now. That way there will also be a bigger performance difference between 6th and 7th gen than if they updated 6 now.

A heat extractor would be awesome for the FI SS guys. Looking forward to seeing what the hood will look like.

Yes, that is expected....and pretty much assured at this point...

The deselected SS is also expected at this point too..

The ZL1 will get the new rear bumper but otherwise remain unchanged...and I just wish they'd put them out already...

I was hoping to see the A10 but GM is still keeping the A8 around for most of the truck trims. Based on that, I wouldn’t expect the Camaro to go all A10. Maybe the SS, maybe.
