The auction states it was stolen off the dealership lot. the zl1's were stolen & stripped for the motor & trans, the interior, as well as the wheels.

Nope, doesn't matter. it is worth whatever u want it to be worth to u. most everyone else that knows the car or sees it as a salvage title won't pay much for it.

Not to mention once a car is totaled, the warranty, recalls, etc are pointless & won't apply to the car.

First off, the car is listed as salvage title in the Ebay ad. Why, after 3 years, hasn't the seller taken the car in for the salvage inspection and gotten a rebuilt title for it? Is there something major wrong with it that it couldn't pass?

Second, is the seller a dealer? A curbstoner? Private owner? Pictures purposely leave out a photo of the rear so you can't tell if it has a dealer tag, private tag, or no tag at all. Be very careful.

Well some states it doesn't really matter if the title says rebuilt or salvage. I had a salvage title car that I drove for 5 years and never even thought twice about it.

That being said there are way too many question marks about this car to pay what the current price is

So you can get tags for a car on just a salvage title in your state? I'm going to have to be extra careful when driving near a car with SC tags from now on.

A few ZL1s going at the salvage auctions:

In CA there is no rebuilt title. In order to get tags you have to pass an inspection and prove that it was fixed properly but the title will still say salvage on it.

There is another one up for sale that is 40 minutes away from me in ohio if someone is interested. it is a flood damaged car.
