Thought GM would help more...

Wifes 2014 Cruze - inside the headlight assembly, the amber lens fell off and is sitting at the bottom of the assembly. 2 weeks after warranty is up, and less than 20K miles. called to get pricing on just the assembly - DAMN - over $400 at the dealership, and more bad news - they stopped making them with the amber lens, only clear now. So, in order for them to match, would need to buy 2. contacted GM to express my concerns, and see if they would be able to offer some sort of assistance since its only 2 weeks out of warranty. They said to take to local dealership, where they offered me a WHOPPING 10% off the parts, plus a $300 install. so, all in, would be well over a grand. HELL NO. get home, check mail - got a 10% off coupon from same dealership. Thanks guys.... Ill either take this one apart, or buy a new one online for about a hundred bucks...

I had a driveshaft go bad on a S10 less than a couple months out of warrant but half the miles. The local dealership spoke with GM and got me a new one for just the labor cost. Saved me over $1000.

I have taken headlights apart to remove the amber reflector...then use some good sealant when you put them back together... used a hair dryer and screw driver to get them apart....

Tell me about it...

Bought a used 2011 Cruze with 5k on the clock about 2 years ago.

Now at 50k+ miles later, I start smelling coolant.

Take it to GM, they tell me that they will inspect the water pump only..... if the cause is anything else, I will have to pay.

1 Hr later, they come back and tell me its the Engine Coolant Recovery Tank Hose, and the Engine Coolant Water Outlet. Price with tax out the door, 450 dollars.

Jumped on Amazon, picked them both up for 30 Dollars, and did the job myself.

Later found out, that these Cruzes are notorious for these coolant leaks, over heating.
