Missed this...

The "he" is me.

Yes, it had weight reduction. Wheels, rear seat delete, removed front sway bar, slightly lighter front brakes (had to have them to run the smaller fronts), manual cloth front seats out of a V6 Mustang, and a live axle in place of the IRS.

Did not have electric water pump - stock water pump.

Did have very basic suspension parts (control arms, front springs, shocks/struts). Car ran a best of 11.60 that day (cool air, MIR....ie....good conditions).

4.56 gears, exhaust, slicks, CAI, tune.

It went consistent 11.4s in NMRA Factory Stock trim on Drag Radials, but there was legal engine work done to achieve that, though I had to add a bit of ballast to make the required weight for class.

Should have kept that car....

I missed the "Bob Cosby" too...

cool air at MIR!

ok... so a tad more than simple bolt-ons...

Yep, I think we all have at least one of those "should have kept it" cars!

I seriously doubt the mach will get "raped"... more likely a driver's race...

FYI I ran a 13.3 @ 107 in a stockish Mach with only Mufflers, and also 18X10 285/40 wheels/tires around it, in 92 or so degrees, with a full tank.

A bolt-on Mach well driven is a solid 12 second car 2 110-113, which is definitely enough to beat even a well driven Stock SS (Granted, not by much)

My Money is on the Camaro. The 4.6 Mach one aint Sh*t. Start messing with the 5.4 Shelbys though and then you might get it handed to ya.

Im not taking anything away from the Mach... its a nice mustang... but a stock LS3 SS will eait it plain and simple. A mach cant hang with a LS2 goat thats stock down to the filter in the airbox. Much less a LS3 Camaro (on the high octane spark table mind you). Thats my opinion which is derived from my experiences. Take it with a grain of salt, I'd bet everything on the SS, especially if I was driving.

Heck, I eat STOCK LS3 SS's all day long! LOL! Every STOCK LS3 I've run into is typically mid-13's at best.. I've run into more than a couple that seemed to be stuck in the 14s!

Thing is you are NOT driving... Not sure the OP's track experience and the OP already admitted the Mach1 driver is good driver... so based on my experience, it's a drivers race..

OP... hope your repairs are moving along... ok... we need to see these cars line up! SOON!

Getting it back from the shop today. We will soon see how they run out.

I'm not going to toot my own horn, but I can hang with the driver of the mach. It's gonna be a good run.

that would be more the extreme and not the norm.

You guys must be running into some super machs A bolton machs a 112 car... are you kidding me! Those cars are fuken dogs, you actually think that piss poor N/A 4.6 can run those number with a few boltons, you have been told lies my friend! Lucky to run 106 with boltons, those cars were getting SPANKED by 4th gens years ago, they are weak as hell! Thats a low 13 sec car with a decent driver, with boltons and drag radials out back, NO TOP END... they dont make power! Theres a reason up till now that ford needed a supercharger to run with a stock ls1!
