Smile Buying a v6 Camaro

So I have seen a few different dealerships that are asking between $5-8k off of the MSRP and I read on one of them on one of the forums that they are sketch about the rebates and they add them onto the price which is listed online.. There is another dealership asking $24,000 for a V6 LT1 automatic brand new and they have about 3 of them... first off I know that there is a 1,000$ rebate going on until Sept 9th I believe so really it would be $23k.. What I really want is the Redline edition for 28k which is the offer but again I don't know if the dealer is adding rebates.

Do you guys think these are legit and good prices and is it smarter for resale purposes to get the LT2 instead of the LT1? Thank you for your much needed and appreciated responses!

Those prices are likely including every possible rebate available. You won't be getting another $1k off.

I paid 28K w/ 1K rebate for my 1LT with RS so that sounds like a sweet deal.

I Paid 27 for my 2lt RS. It all depends on how aggressive you are.

With the 2018 arriving the 2017's can be had for a deal. You kind of have two options, try to deal over the phone/email. Sometimes it is the flat out best deal, then again some dealerships only have bots that respond and give you some bs price. Worth a shot. Then the walk in. The trick to a good deal is to let them think they are sealing the deal on a car you don't want. Search the inventory first if it's a big lot, but basically if you want an automatic tell them you'd rather have a manual, same with the color, want red, say you want blue, just make sure they have a red automatic, that you really want. Find another dealership that has this fake car you want. You can always throw " well ________ has the car I really want, I think I'll go take a look at it" and so on at them when the dealing has stalled or you want a bail out. I've done this with great success.

When a dealership knows, they have what you want, they are going to put up a worthy fight on the deal, and it could take hours to drive it down. If on the other hand they feel they are unloading a car on you, that you don't want, often times they will bend over backwards to get you an amazing deal. You might even hear them say "So what do I have to do, to make you like Red?" -$$!!

When they ask you to leave you have gone too far.

find the exact car you want at as many dealerships in the 50 miles around you that you can. then get quotes from all of them and let each one know you have another dealer willing to give it to you for xyz dollars. Dont commit to buying from anyone.

Give it about a week or two hitting them all up. You'll get the best deal you have available in your general area.

Start now ...end of month is the time to buy. If the price you eventually get isn't working for you, just wait until next month. If the price never comes to your preferred number then the car is just not meant to be for you.

Thank you guys for the advice! I found a 2016 2LT RS Dual Mode Exhaust with low mileage and asking 26k but unfortunately it has Adrenaline Red Interior! I'm not sure how I feel about it and I'm uncertain how that would resale. I do know its a 400$ upgrade and everything but I just don't know. Any thoughts on Adrenaline Red Interior and Resale?

I went in last September and I knew it was month end and quarter end. I knew which one I wanted as I went in 3 weeks prior to drive it. I originally went through the online sales department and then when I went in to finally purchase it I went in and asked for the sales manager and told him what price they quoted me which was 30,999 and I told him that I was not looking to pat more that 27500 and that car has now sat for 3+ weeks that I know of. I was hidden in the back and the 17's were now out. SO, for the price that they wanted a person could get a 2017. I had all my financing done already so all we had to do was agree on a price. I did sit there for 4-5 hours while he tried to find a way to do it and he finally came with the owner of the dealership and he said that I was very determined and that he would let it go for that price if I signed that day. SO i did.

Mine was $23k flat including taxes and tags back during the red tag deal in December. It was a LT V6 A8. Only options were stripes and black 20 inch rims. I still love every minute of driving this car. For this money you cant get close on anything this fast new.
