Well that sucks for him. Poor guy's got to be throwing up as we speak over it. You got lucky and learned a valuable lesson that racers eventually do. You can know your car and keep it from hitting the wall, but the guy in the next lane, not so much. At least your cars okay. BallZ!

that sucks. Its too bad the mustang got messed up, im pretty sure the total damage will go up to atleast 4k
Atleast you guys were not hurt. I would never do a side by side burnout for that reason, i always feared the end of the other persons car or mine veering towards eachother.
Why didnt you guys just clutch and hold the break? I completely understand how when your in the moment, you dont really think or even have time to think

I'm guessing $7500. This is $6000 with no radiator or engine-related damage or damage to the hood.

You guys are probably right that it's going to be a lot more than $2K of damage. I was trying to make myself not feel so bad for the guy.

I immediately expected Eric to start blaming me for damaging his car. Like he was trying to avoid my car or whatever, but he didn't try to blame me at all. We agreed that we were just being stupid and he got the worst end of it. I'm still amazed at the power of my Camaro and how easy it is to get those big rear "meats" smoking.

Yes, please use this as a lesson to you all. Doing something stupid for fun can very easily turn ugly. I told Eric if my car would have been the one damaged the worst thing would have to be coming home and trying to tell my wife and 18 year daughter what happened. He agreed, said his wife will likely be a total bitch about it. I know my wife would have reamed my butt out....for probably 6 months if I would have damaged my car. I didn't even tell her about the whole thing, I feel bad enough about it no sense of having to listen to any additional crap about it!

Hard for me to feel sorry for someone who puts themselves into a risky situation.

Maybe when you reach the ripe age of 40 you won't do stuff like that.
