Not really...he got $4K back from Paypal. So in essence, he got the blower AND his $4K!!! Ace went on to spend whatever he had to on replacement parts, but got the original component for NOTHING!!!

If he paid to fix it, he still spent the cash to do it. So it now becomes his blower since he paid for it one way or another.

And to reinforce the point. He has tried to appeal their decision (as of today) and been denied grounds for the appeal. The blower is mine. But the money i spent to recondition/rebuild it, the time spent running around... I can never get back. That's some serious damn nerve to call me a thief. I've bought and sold MUCH on here and never put anyone in a bad situation either way.

Wow, IBTL. If you spent all that money to get it fixed, why are you selling it now?

So...lemme see if I get this straight. You buy something, get a refund, AND keep what you bought? I must be living in a crazy world, because where I come from, if you get a refund you give up the purchased item. When ace found the blower was defective, I'm sure he tried to return it. But you can't keep the item AND get your money back. That's just...NO sorry. And purchasing something used has inherent risks that it MAY be defective. Spending extra to get it to new like condition doesn't mean he's entitled to his initial investment back. What world do you live in?

Obviously people are free say what they want. I have done a few different transactions with Ace on High dollar items as well (around $6000). I sent him a lot of money in the past and he has always come through for me. Actually, he has been more than helpful even when I had tunning issues, I sent my ECU to him. He didnt have to help me with the tune but he did.

This guy is now talking about being ripped off from a transaction that happened months ago?? Now hes doing something about it, when obviously Ace did and was given his money back from PAYPAL. That makes no sense.

That's why I always use Paypal. Buyer protection is priceless. Normally, they won't issue a refund until they have proof the original item was returned. They give the seller 45 days to respond to a dispute case, but if he chooses to ignore it it defaults to the buyer. Sounds like that's what happened in this situation.

A world where I gave him a chance to have the blower returned to him and he ignored that as well. That's not my fault if he didn't want it back after I got the refund. When he didn't answer, I simply said "ok fine, your choice" and had the blower rebuilt and installed it. What? I was supposed to sit on a part and wait hoping someday he'll call like a 13year old girl. No man. Like a beat up wife, I gave him plenty of chances to make it right and take it back.

The real world.

This. I've been through this as well. Slow arduous process. It doesn't necessarily mean that guilt was established, but that the buyer was somehow wronged and seller could not/would not make it right.

Don't really understand sinking money into something that you are disputing. Now once the dispute had been settled... different story. Glad this type of messy transaction on C5 is the exception.
