Painting flat black stripes on

Anyone do this?

Looking at having my flat black vinyl stripes removed from my front hood and painted on.

What is the care like as far as washing, claying, polishing, waxing etc..

How much should this cost? Just for the hood stripes.

It's not cheap. That's to have the car sanded down though. You can get them painted on top of your factory paint for around $900. The only difference is if you run your hand over the car hood you can feel the paint is lifted.

There is no advantage to doing it the way you want. It won't last or look better longer than vinyl. You can't wax flat paint and it's just as streaky as vinyl. Paint might not stick they can't really do any surface prep its just a one shot deal and there will be hard lines just like decals have. There are "waxes" specifically for flat paint and vinyl decals though, so all is not a waste.

Anyway, I know people that would do that for me for free. So I'm going with $200 max.

Damn that looks good. Much better placement than factory options. You did it just right.
