The relocated reservoir is on Ventmaster's car. They lengthened the small hose with a male-male adapter and placed the reservoir on the rear side of the driver's side wheel well. I believe they used some type of simple fasteners to attach it there. It's nothing complicated, though.
My car ran freaking GREAT today. I really can't hardly get my brain around how much faster it is now. Driving with the windows down is an aural treat as well. If you're just cruising along at a slow speed around 2000 rpm, it sounds like a jet engine at idle. Very distinctive. All's well here. John B. |

I'm still lurking here........hoping to be in a position to get my kit one of these days SOON. Does it look this problem is just with the LFX?

That's what I want to know, it seems like the only problems with the kit that have appeared are with the LFX

This seem to be an isolated thing. I had a leak on my LLT but after reinstalling the engine connection and hose myself I haven't had a problem. But even with the leak I still had assistance to the steering.

There had to be a change at some point, either in the power steering pump itself (larger inlet bore), or to the adapter supplied by IPF (smaller diameter fitting).
Mine is allowing air into the system again, but is not leaking. Since I'm ordering a new pump because I stripped the Torx head bolt threads in the pump, I'll probably drain the system again tonight and re-seal it, but add a small amount of RTV around the fitting above the o-ring, then let it sit overnight before I refill and bleed it. I'll still be able to remove the fitting and reuse it when the new pump arrives. This will also allow us to check the two pumps to see if there's a difference between the two and see if there needs to be a second, larger size adapter that needs to be included in the kit. The line in question is static when the car is off, meaning no pressure and no suction. when the car is running, it's a line under negative pressure, since it's a return line. Any amount of gap that's not sealed will allow air to enter the system. And that's whats happening to me. John B. |

Did you see if the two surfaces are true meaning flat? They could have a small deveation

Nope. What I did notice during initial assembly is that the return line fitting that came out of the car (the OEM piece) fit snugly. I had to work a bit to get it out. The new piece from IPF did not fit snugly. It was loose, even though the stock o-ring was carefully transferred over and installed correctly.

Wonder if GM revised the power steering pump?

That's what I aim to get to the bottom of on both above questions. It should go a long way to making this kit work better in the long run.

So I Finally uninstalled this kit. Since I am not getting any response from anyone from IPF. Looks like I am going to pay them a visit soon. Its a 4 hour drive but I will go and demand my money back.
