Best performance for 10k?

I'm looking to spend around $10,000 (more or less) on performance. I'm not sure if I want to go with Hennessey, Ligenfelter, or something else. What do you all recommend I do? What should I get put in and who should I get to do it? Thanks!

What is your desired goal? You can go into suspension, losing unsprung weight..heads,cams,NOS, forced induction..etc...what do you want to do??

I am asking when you say performance..I see that you posted this in the Forced Induction section..so I know there are quite a few supercharger and turbo systems under your price point. Vendors are on here with plenty of builds

Speed

Any suggestions though? You've dealt with Ligenfelter right? Easy to deal with? Just trying to get some ideas on what to put in and who to deal with.

Well as a Moderator I have to stay neutral..that being said...I have had two Lingenfelter Vehicles done for me...I love their product, workmanship, reliability and customer service...I would recommend you call around..MTI,Hennesey, Lingenfelter and the other shops that are around..do your due diligence and research..I personally would not recommend going with a shop that is new in the game...also dont be afraid to ask to speak to some of their customers...that is the true testimony

From years of experience and going through the pain moding, I'll give you one advice. Go with a proven technology. Skip the hype. My suggestion is to go a simple a effective route. At this point Maggie TVS2300 is a great proven kit. Find a GOOD tuner near you and with $10K, you can have the full install done. Hope this helps!

For $10k you can get alot of performance!
Certainly boost is the path of least resistance in this field. (no pun intended) Weather it be a Pro-Charger or a Maggie or even a turbo, I think you will find that BOOST is your friend

The Maggies give you brutal low end torque (a little hard on tires in a street car but lots of fun for sure). The Pro-Charger is more linear with RPM and makes good peak HP and more streetable torque and in the long run, better MPG. It really comes down to what your long term goals for the car are.

If you couple boost with a properly ground camshaft and exhaust, You should be overwhelmed at the result. There are LS3s out there right now making 700 RWHP in daily drivable condition.

As stated before "do your due dillegance". Research, ask questions, and make an eduacted decision. It shouldnt be too dificult with all the info in here

What about the 720hp single turbo kit from the shop in Florida? I'd say right now given its price that's going to be the best bang for your buck @ less than 10k.

Shit for 10 grand I'd forge the bottom end and then pic your boost choice, for me it would be turbo, but each his own,but for that money you should be able to make sum serious power, more than most if you use it right good luck on your decision

Best "performance" for the money right now seem to be the kit Van mentioned. The Ultimate Performance Single Turbo kit made 525rwhp and 540rwtq out of a L99 at 8.5 lb boost (the baseline was 314rwhp and 311 rwtq). They are advertising the retail price at 5,995 for a "tuner kit" (ie. everything except the injectors and tune) and 6,795 for everything (tune and injectors included). There is a thread at http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32577 showing it' history, progress and results if it peaks your interest. If you look around, most of the other kits on L99's are barely breaking 500 rwhp (unless paired with cams or LT headers which is more money).

For comparison...I just went thread hunting and found these:

Vortech's kit is still in the R&D stage and made 484rwhp & 421rwtq @ 8psi on an L99 (price is yet to be announced). The thread is at http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23344.

Fastlane's ZL1 Single turbo made 520rwhp and 509 rwtq @ 7psi on an L99 (price is yet to be announced). Thread is at http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33619 EDIT: They are reporting 528rwhp and 528rwtq at their homepage http://fastlaneincorporated.com/camaro.asp. Baseline dyno was 349rwhp and 321rwtq. I am unsure of the price of the package, couldn't find it.

MagnaCharger's TVS2300 made 456rwhp and 470rwtq @ 6psi on an L99. Hotdamn, this L99 was a factory freak!!! 344rwhp at baseline? Sheesh!! One owner got real lucky on the L99 pick lotto Thread is at http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...t=27475&page=2 Up to my knowledge... MTI, Hennesey & Lingenfelter use a TVS2300 (I think MTI uses the TVS1900 & TVS2300) so their numbers might be similar, but don't take my word for it and do a search (they might be sold at different boost levels; and definitely at different price levels )

ATI Procharger P1SC made 472rwhp and 470rwtq @ 8psi. Baseline 314rwhp and 331rwtq. This is another L99 but apparently had ARH Long Tube Headers. Thread is at http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32549

Not all dynos are equal; if I were you, I would look at the gains (hp and tq) from baseline for each kit and compare. If you are a purist, divide that gain by the PSI and you will find out more or less how much power per psi each kit is putting out if you were to take a kit up to the same PSI. This will be a guesstimate of course.

P.S. I only mentioned kits on the L99 for comparison's sake. The LS3 versions are making more power @ the same psi with equal mods. And also, you might find better prices than those mentioned here if you really go hunting for them, but at least those where the ones advertised.
