Only once and I still have the problem, it occurred on Nov 7 2014. I just went to car started it up and the screen was blank. I took it the dealer and it stood 5 days at the dealer, they said they order a cable/harness. I go back the dealer this tuesday to get it fix.

Oh ok, i Just had to adjust the clock and roll down and up the windows after the battery reset. If I took it to the dealer that probably what they'd do and send me on my way anyways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I had the exact issue as the original poster, the radio worked, steering wheel buttons worked to control the radio, and even the touch screen worked (pushing where the buttons on the screen would be worked to change channels, etc), just couldnt see anything on the screen (totally black). This issue came up probably 3 weeks ago and never self corrected. What fixed it for me was just disconnecting the negative battery terminal in the trunk (10mm socket, remove single bolt, very simple) and leaving it disconnected for about 15 minutes and then re-connecting it. When I started it up it worked like a charm and all of my radio settings were still there even (didnt have to reprogram the windows either thankfully). Only things that I notice so far that were affected were the compass had to recalibrate itself and the clock had to be reset. Hope this helps someone in the future, cheers |

This was happening on a different GM car when it was new.
I never had to disconnect the battery. You need to shut off the car, and open and close the door to disable RAP. Then wait at least 10 minutes and start the car again. This worked for me, but when the problem recurred I called OnStar and they were able to reset the system remotely. The problem didn't recur after that. |
