I'm looking at a 68 Camaro. I'm thinking about buying it but I wanted to get as much accurate info as possible regarding specs, equipment, etc. I wasted $13.44 on the "Bumper" database advertised here on C5, but it only goes back as far as 1980. Of course, it doesn't tell you that up front.

Anyone know a site where I can get some specs from a known VIN? Thank you.

Does the car have a build plate on it? They used to put a build sheet either over the
gas tank or, behind or under the rear seat.

I got my build sheet for my 2010 in the Chevy Customer Service chat box, requested
it by VIN. Don't think they'll have it for that age.

The only place you will get any info on options for a 68 without the build sheet is the body tag under the hood. The VIN will tell you if it came with a V8 or Straight 6. If the third digit is a 3 it's a 6 cylinder. If it is 4, it's V8.
