2015 Camaro RS 4 Gauge Cluster Install
Hi all,
New to the forums and need some help with an install. I got a 2015 Camaro RS with the Mylink screen. Decided to install the 4 gauge cluster. Routed the wire and disassembled the old old piece without any issues. The fun began when I was trying to install the new 4 pack gauges. The piece would not fit into the hole. Seems like the mylink is blocking it access. I know it's a plug and play mod. But what am I doing wrong? Already scratched the life out of the shifter and and the side of the center console. Should I remove the shifter and try again or is this an issue with the models with the mylink screens? I've seen similar 2015 models with his mod and the mylink screen, so I know it can be done. Any thoughts and suggestions would be helpful! Pics are attached. |

mine came that way from the factory,so it can be done.it seems like removing the shifter or sliding it backwards would be the next step.

I did my 15 1LE with mylink. It’s a manual so I threw it in a gear to push it back. It looks like your shifter knob is massive compared to the manual, so I would probably suggest taking that knob off and pulling it back like you did. I also remember that the white cable that plugs into it, was super tight. If I was more skilled back then, I would have cut and soldered a longer lead. But I got it to work just fine. It’s just tight to get your hands under the gauges to plug it in while also trying not to scratch everything. Hope that helps!

Thanks, Guys. That's going to be my next step. At one point, I managed to get it through the shifter, but it looked like it got jammed right underneath the AC controls.
I got a new shifter coming in soon. So I'll try again. The gauges worked when I tested them out. Will be a shame not to be able to finish such an awesome mod. |

There is a screw under a small cap in the front bottom of that bigass shifter knob that you can remove after you pull it all the way back and slide the knob up and off and all that is left is a skinny metal rod and insert for the shift lock, then you will have plenty of room. Good luck and nice mod.

I've read thru several gauge installs and that was the first I read about the hidden shifter screw. Want this mod in the future myself. Thanks!

Small tip here, I would suggest putting some painters tape on each side of the center console while trying to install. The bottom of the 4-pack bezel piece is sharp and WILL gouge and scratch the plastic on the console. Ask me how I know...

There should be a few threads on removing the auto shifter, its pretty easy and straigth forward. That will make it a piece of cake to slide that in there.

Have any of you guys/gals put the oil pressure gauge in the bottom of the cluster? I always look at op first & when I'm driving but its a pain to look around the dial.

The entire shifter is easy to remove, although it's been long enough since I did it to not remember the exact steps.
I think the radio faceplate is just clipped on and fairly easy to remove. Again it's been awhile since I removed mine and don't remember exactly how it came off, but it wasn't a big deal. At least on the older radios. |
