Few things to note.
Thank you Steve for the tips in your thread. One of the things I made sure to do was study the injector connectors. I figured them out and they are quite easy. I got them all in less than 3 minutes with just my hands. My fingers are small so I could squeeze the grey tab further. (diagram is for general purpose, I know you already know ) I'm assuming this isn't supposed to be open? It came to me like this. Do I need to order one? Look how nasty the manifold gets. And for those of you who wonder what a catch can is for, look at the burnt port walls in the above pic, and look at the inside of my intake...... I hate seeing my car like this. But it'll be so worth it. |

PQ I'd hate to be the first to tell you this but, the way that thing looks. It looks like it fell off the back of a truck and not in a good way. That part you think you have to replace is essential to the blower even working properly. The part in question is your bypass valve. It looks as if it were dropped on the valve cause it is broken and, the hose barb is gone. This one part is what causes the plate on the inside of the blower to close under heavy acceleration. Without this part; that plate will never close or it will be permanently closed and under constant boost killing your gas mileage. This valve is set at the factory and calibrated to work with your car. I can only hope that jessika from magnacharger can help you out. Looks like you will be out of the game a lot longer than expected. Sorry bud :(

Are you installing a BAP or dual fuel pumps with the maggie, do you know pro's / con's of installing one or the other or both? I've read about some horror stories with engines running too lean or failed BAP's. My approach to this stuff when discussing with my performance installer is to err on the side of caution and safety, I'd rather pay the experts a few g'notes to ensure I don't blow an engine that will cost $20k to replace.
Personally, if I were in your position, I wouldn't risk it (especially a second hand SC) unless I've done this numerous times in the past and knew exactly what I was doing, otherwise I'd pay the $1.4k to ensure the experts install and tune my engine so it doesn't blow up. Hope all goes well. Good luck.

I may get one anyway for no surprises, but I'll do my first dyno to see. It's a pretty safe install and I am having it dyno tuned by a really good tuner here in Mobile. I'm not worried about the work. But the blower I'm a bit concerned about all of a sudden. lol |

PQ you are the man. I would never be brave enough to do that to my car. I will have a shop do mine.

For me when I'm about to purchase 7-9k worth of gear (SC, Catch can, BAP, dual fuel pump and / or meth kit), and labour to tear apart my vehicle for these types of improvements, and they can be dangerous to the longevity of my engine, I want to make sure I have top notch support available to me on a dimes notice. Jessika, you rock I can't wait to get my SC and have it installed.

I know for a fact that PQ has heard about the attributes and possible necessity of a boost-a-pump, especially if he goes to a 3.6" pulley . I think the 3.6" pulley would work well for his car because he has LT headers.
Oh, and the catch can is a great move. They should be required on a car with a supercharger. Thanks for sharing the install with us, PQ. This has been a fun read. You are much braver than I am. It's also reassuring to see how good Magnarcharger's customer service is. |

hahaha..... probably not. I'll have to find out when she's gone. But, I'd expect there must be a backup plan.
