Question 2013 Camaro Hot Wheels SE: To Mod or Not to Mod

I'm still kicking around the idea of doing a few mods to my HWSE but I'm a little concerned that I should keep it 100% stock... Has anyone done any mods to theirs?

Do what you want to it, just keep the stock parts. That's what I did.

Same here, I have all the stock parts off of my 45th. Even the motor is wrapped up in storage

I've done mods to mine, as you can see from my signature. Unless you are a collector or someone who does not like doing mods at all, I say go for it!

If you have the space to keep the stock parts then you can do that too. But I wanted mine to be just a little different from the other HWSE that I might see so that's why I did some mods.

Just don't do any thing irreversible and you will be fine.

I feel your desire, but the HWSE is so damn perfect the way it is.IMO...and you never see them due to their exclusivity.....

It's not like its going to be this rare collectors edition very low number car. I understand the part of having a nce clean car BUT the fact is these cars are almost a dime a dozen. I read about guys wanting to keep it " numbers matching" I laugh cause this using the 60/70's there are no numbers to match lol.

Do your mods and make it YOUR special edition, build it the way YOU want it.

Actually the HWSE is a very low volume car. In Canada only 32 were allocated for production. I am not sure of the USA numbers but I'm guessing around 1500 to 2000 total were made.

All interesting points of view! I'm thinking CAI, cat back exhaust, RX oil catch can, Hurst short throw shifter, strut tower bar. But I'm not sure about lowering with the 21"s on it. Anyone lower theirs?

I concur with what most of these guys have said.

Just don't do anything that is irreversible and keep your stock parts. Then if you want to have a collectors item years from now, you still can.

There is stock.

There is stock plus OEM mods.

Then there is stock plus aftermarket mods.

For yours you could get (almost) all the parts OEM.

CAI (Z/28 intake will be out shortly)
Cat Back Exhaust (Chevrolet sells a rebranded Borla)
Catch Can (No dirty side OEM, but you can buy the 1LE version for the clean side from Chevrolet). The Elite "looks" the most OEM (to me).
Short Throw Shifter (ZL1 short throw shifter is available from GM performance Parts)
Strut Tower Bar (Chevrolet Sells)
