6th gen to 5th gen front fascia conversion

I know it's not for everybody. But anybody have done it? Or anybody offering a conversion kit?

It will never physically fit unless someone re-molds the 6th Gen style to fit the 5th Gen chassis. Otherwise, if you have learned/read anything about the differences between the two platforms, the 6th is much physically smaller than the 5th Gen. You're not gonna magically stretch a bumper cover and fascia to fit a physically larger car. And the mounting points are completely different to boot. IF it were feasible, then it would have to be the hood, front bumper cover, fascia, fenders, lights basically the whole front end minus chassis bits. Definitely not worth it. Just sell/trade for a 6th already.

No hostility here friend, just giving you the facts. Trying to help you to not make an expensive mistake. G/L with whatever you decide to do. Maybe one of the aftermarket companies will make a 6th Gen "style" front end for the 5th. Otherwise, I just don't see it as being feasible between the two platforms.

I agree no one has done it because they can't have you looked up anything about the 6th gen

There is less than an inch difference in the overall width of a Gen 5 and 6, Gen 6 being about .875" narrower 75.125" vs 76.010" according to Chevrolet specs. I am not sure of the difference dimensionally of the actual bumper covers. A good custom body shop with fabricating experience can easily make it fit but it's not going to be cheap....pretty much anything can be done for a price.

Less than an inch difference in overall width, that can be achieved by sawing bumper cover in half, adding approx .45" from the center of each half and then re-connecting the nose with glass tape and patch. A custom grill would be required as would custom brackets would need to be fabed up and were the feners meet the bumper cover would all have to be blended, it would be a big job but the dimensions(width) is the least of his concerns.

Anything is possible with enough money. The thing is that you're going to have to do a lot of fabrication to make the 6th gen front end fit and even then it may not even look that good.
