Agreed...theres a good reason we're all using LS3 blocks and actually did the first 429ci on a LS3 block.

The 7 is a good motor non the less and gladly I'll snatch one up.

I've heard from several different people around here and even on various forums that the LS7 & boost do not mix well...

You can make ~650rwhp and be pretty good. They are definitely more fragile than an ls3 and have head issues. I would avoid them unless you plan on dumping $3-4k into headwork/mods to keep them reliable. I rather have an ls3 with a blower than a ls7.

Hm....interesting

Although I think a LS, LT, SS, 1LE, Z/28, ZL1 Camaro line-up would be a bit cluttered...maybe (if this is real and there really is a Z/28) it'll replace the 1LE?

LF3 is going into the 2014 Cadillac CTS, the new CTS sedan will be sold along side the old coupe and wagon for a bit.

Just brainstorming but would they offer the LS7 as a package like the 1LE? I assume it would come with at least a brake and trans upgrade but we still don't know much about this PDF file. Maybe GM leaked it on purpose to give us a little hope but they didn't want to spill all the beans. I wouldn't count the Z28 out just yet.

Considering the LFX (which I'm guessing is what the LF3 will be based on) makes between 300-323 hp (depending on application), I should hope the LF3 makes significantly more than 380 hp.

Question is what will this cost, Z06 is much more expensive than a ZL1...think about that...
Quote:
I just checked for price of new Crate LS7 is double the cost of the LS3, so add at least $8k on the price of a new Camaro....that's a lot of money for 80 more HP....
ZL1: 54K
1LE: 37K

I would expect a LS7 camaro to be between there so 8-9K more is what would make sense. So 45-46K. Obviously, I would love for it to be more toward the 40K range, but I'm not sure that would happen.

The LS7 is a great motor and I wish they could have found some ways to make it more available. I always thought the CTS could use some middle ground with an LS3 or a LS7 in it. The jump from V6 to LSA seems a little extreme. The GTO could have used one it it's final year of production. This late in the game it seems like they might just have some extra motors laying around and no Z06s to toss them in.
