If you're getting a deal on the factory installed or the aftermarket, go with it. Dealer is 20% shorter throw, aftermarket Hurst is 40% shorter throw. If you decide to go with an aftermarket, do your homework, check out Barton also. If you have the money, also check out MGW. Any one that replaces the whole shifter mechanism is your best bet. I have an MGW on mine, and it's like night and day difference.

MGW all the way. This also got rid of the "notchy" feeling in the 2-3 shift.

The MTI shifter is an excellent shifter. Very precise and solid. I am becoming more of a fan every time I use it.

The big thing to keep in mind about the aftermarket Hurst shifter is that it is a competition shifter. Its purpose is to get you from one gear to the next as quickly as possible. Part of that is a 40% throw reduction but the result is a lose of some mechanical leverage.
