Newbie to this site and have questions on camaro5 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hello all, I am new to this site, but not new to camaros as I have many 2nd gens on my acre of land, but I am looking into buying a 5th gen for my DD.

At first I was going to wait until 2011, but the more I see the 2010 in advertising and online, I am getting the itch to go get one now.

My questions are how should I approach getting one? Just go to the local dealer and order it, or wait until they get them in and hope they have the color with options I want? I want a 2SS in cyber grey or aqua blue. The nearest dealer to me only has a black one or victory red.

Also, are dealers jacking up the price for them since they are newly released or are they going to deal to sell them?

Any info on this would help. Thanks.

Place your order don't pay anything over MSRP even that to me is too high. My dealer let me use College Grad discount. Check this post out maybe you can work something out and have it dropped shipped at no extra cost. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13871

That's a list of dealers selling at MSRP or lower. There are a few from NY on there.

If you've got your heart set on a specific package & color, you'll pretty much have to order it through the dealer. Demand's high enough that it'll be a while before most dealers have a good selection in the showroom at the same time.

A dealer near you has camaros on the lot? for sale? well there are some dealers that are marking them up. and there are some that are selling for sticker. I would shop around to see who treats you the best. Or perhaps call up camaroscotty he's on here and is a pretty good guy. Im sure he will probably chime in here sometime. or you could look for his posts it has his contact info on here. I'd say if you can get one and want one by all means get one. I dont see any problem with ordering other than the wait to get it here

IMO.. if you've seen one in person , sat in one , gave it a good once over i would do like the others said find a good dealer that your comfortable with and get that baby on the way, but if your on the fence i'd wait till your local dealer gets one and check it out first.

I don't know how much faith we should put in the map. Yesterday I called a dealership about an hour away from me because the map said they had one. They said no, it's not in, not for another couple weeks.

Guys, the map doesn't mean anyone HAS a Camaro at this time. It simply means that a car was built that will be heading for that dealership. We heard that the cars were cleared to ship and may start rolling out this week (if they didn't start loading up yesterday). So make sure you know what the map represents before you discredit it please.

I think others laid it out for you. Find a dealer that will sell for MSRP or less. If we buy from dealers who are marking cars up, then we are just encouraging them to do it.
