I think its gonna be wherever the criteria can be met, regardless of fairness or switching between East/West. Unfortunately for us in the West, the East has a lot more to offer as far as tracks go.

All in good time. After we decide where we'd like to go, we have to see who can have us at the times we want to be there ... at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, we can't really pin all that onto a specific date.

Im good for where ever... I think a lot of our northern neighbors (Canada) would love to see it a bit more north instead of all in the deep south parts of USA. I can't blame them.
Im down for where ever gets picked. I already have money stashed to make the trip since I didn't make it this year.

Indianapolis has access to virtually every major highway that crosses a majority of the country. I-70? Check US 40? Check I-65? Check It's in close quarters to Chicago, St. Louis, Louisville, Bowling Green (Corvette Museum) and Detroit. It's also got hellafied railway access to virtually any corner of the USA. As for the tracks available at Lucas Oil Raceway Park.... NHRA Nationals is held here, the NASCAR trucks and Nationwide series have run at LORP, and they also host a ton of other events on a regular basis. So for anyone worrying about space, I'm sure if NASCAR and the NHRA can do it here, I'm sure anyone from C5 will do quite nicely ![]() http://www.nhra.net/2011/images/indy/NationalsMap.pdf Ultimately, I'm just glad to know that the site appreciates good input and listens to us. I think a centralized location, such as the Midwest or Central part of the US is ultimately the best option. It doesn't necessarily have to be early April either... As for those complaining about weather, prior to this past week, we had had 60+ temps for almost 3 weeks here in Indianapolis....so it's not all doom and gloom. Shoot, despite the storms this week, it's supposed to be in the 70's this week.... All in all, I wouldn't mind driving to something if it was centralized. I just don't want to drive 1500 miles one year, 2400 miles the next....and I'm sure most of us agree with that.

Speaking from some exp as far as attending and being involved with the
promotion of trade shows for a good part of my life. I can safely say it takes a tremendous amount of time and effort esp the first few years to get it done right. Once you have been doing it for a number of years (10 or more), it becomes much more routine as far as the timing and best locations. 1) location of course the facility needs to be large enough to hold the capacity of those that are predicted to attend. Meaning enough hotels for sleeping accommodations and also places to eat. 2) Transportation to the facility such as decent highways, airports and possible trains. 3) The facilty would need to have enough room for all the vendors that will attend the event and make this area look more professional. Also due to the fact vendors will be attending other shows and thier calenders get booked up early, they need to be informed about the show dates as soon as possible. With the costs involved with thier time, transportation, hotel rooms, time invested, (booth fees?), this needs to be a worthwhile event on thier show schedule so that they will be back for future events. 4) Entrance fee to help offset the some of the costs of having the event. 5) Special rates with the hotels due to mass bookings, perhaps getting some racing celeb's to the event for publicity of the camaro line of cars and get written up nationally. 6) Central location that will draw the largest amount of camaro people within a days worth of driving. Lastly my thanks goes out to all those who have made the first two camaro events a reallity to enjoy. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to put on an event such as this, but I believe this is just the beginning and its only going to grow. Hopefully where ever the next fest will be that the camaro clubs in that area will help with some of the leg work needed to get things going. |

Indy The big track or Oreilly park ? would be a very good choice so that the members from the east can be there to from the north and south ,and west. good location Some of the forums sponsers are from Indiana ,and the weather does not get to hot to kill the performance .
