Now THAT looks better than a lot of the tracks I've been looking at lately.

Nice suggestion!

Joliet, eh?

I like that set up too. There's another one.
google map says it's 1729 miles from vegas. Which i think is doable

so not that much further for the cali folks. about a day and a half drive for them, straight shot.

Oh no...just waiting to see what the others say. See, we all HAVE our passports.

Now...to set up shipping the Camaro...lol

Agreed. I was just looking at that and could easily see everything laid out. AutoX in upper left, vendors along track, car show across from it. Easy lay out.

Now I see two good potential tracks.

Pix are so much better.

edit: and i believe this picture was taken while the oval track was being built. i believe it's all paved now. lol

2nd edit: nevermind, i think it's a dirt oval, which is fine, we don't need it. lol

Nice...

JMO - any track that has the basic needs in the central/northern US would be a viable location for C5FestIII. Topeka, Joliet, St. Louis, Bowling Green, Indy, etc. It will more than likely come down to cost/availability. It would also be nice to have tech commensurate with the type of cars running or come up with a format to support it.

That way every possible C5 member that has a chance to go can go. For many as long as the drive can be done in 2 days it's a go.

Route 66 Raceway, Joliet, IL is wonderful and well kept... but it is just a Drag way and a dirt area for demolition derby stuff. There could possibly be room to setup a AutoX, down side is there is no road course.

Drag wise, it is fantastic.

SW corner pulls all those people away from the festivities, IMO. Puts them on the other side of the track. Better to keep everyone together, IMHO.

There's been mention of it before, but there is a very good road course/about 10 minutes from Route 66 (5 miles) for those that really do want a road course experience

Hoping for some middle ground! I can't make the coast-to-coast drive, but somewhere in the middle and I'm there!

Not etched in stone.

April is a great time for the south with the locations that were chosen as the weather plays a major role. Look up weather history for both places....Valdosta and for Chandler and tell me what you see. Not much in the way of rain. Rain is a BIG enemy.

So, IF....the fest were to move upwards and over some, then dates would most likely have to change according to the weather history. April would normally be colder (albeit better for running the cars) but also wetter, which obviously completely would destroy any chance we had at getting out to the track and running....either auto x or dragging.

Moving it to a later season is absolutely possible if the outlook on the weather would demand such.

I would say east, and Las Vegas is east of San Diego. So Las Vegas it is.
