Wink Zl1 corporate headquarters

Stuff happens.
I wonder what the 'vibe' is at corporate headquarters.
I wonder if the "leak" was accidental? Would gm lose money
About what happened yesterday?
My thoughts? No.
Why? Gm built a new car. Ford did not bottom line.
Ever get slapped in the face? It hurts!
Was the slap intentional? Of course!
It is NEVER the one that gets slapped that loses the battle.
It is the one doing the slapping that loses.
I wonder if the leak was intentional though.
Even though its not our business one coud not keep from wondering
Any way. I have a solution to the problem on a individual
Basis only. I see someone has already created a thread on it.
See you there.

I think he's saying the price was leaked early? But I don't think it was...

I believe he is referring to the fact that Ford knew EXACTLY when to play the "MINE's BIGGER" trump card GT500 on the exact day/hour when the ZL1 pricing was released.

Ford released HP numbers thats IT! There is no information about "Ring" times? No pricing information? No 0-60 or 1/4 miles times. I've driven High HP Mustangs and can tell you I need to see the car run because "hooking up" has ALWAYS been the issue.
You can have ALL the HP in the world but if you can't keep the rubber planted it does you NO good.
Why do you think no "RING" times have been announced? You think they would miss out on bragging rights if they had beatin the ZL-1 times? I don't think the car posted good enough numbers. Ohhhh and lets see pricing because I can damn will bet you will be more expensive than the ZL-1

Could it be that they already beat the ring time of the zl1 but they are trying to get a even better time before posting it?

That's been reported but there's no confirmation except by Ford fanboys. What they've been posting isn't far off what is coming out, but the facts remain the results of the improvements haven't been reported so there's not much to worry about. Even if things turn out that ZL1 is trumped right off, it doesn't change my mind about how I still love this car.

What I don't really want to see is GM saying or justifying that we have 'Vette, so CAMARO doesn't necessarily need to match the Mustang. While I can understand that - I don't like it. Will there be much interest in a +$60K CAMARO? I'm not confident, so that will be a problem...

And how many 2013 gt500s do you think will be on the road? I don't expect to see many, I'm not worried. I will be a Chevy fan boi for life

Exclamation

You either want a camaro or you want a mustang! It is rare or never that someone buys a car based on power and they don't mod it after they get it! So whats the diff.
Buy a mustang! Years ago I dated a girl who drove one!
Now that was mean!!
I guess I need to quit looking at these threads!!!

I wouldn't vest too much stock in most of the folks bantering on about Ring times for the GT500. Ford has had a long standing policy of not using the Ring as a venue for performance numbers with regard to marketing on any car, although the there are apparently those in the European arm who aren't on board with this, and while that may change it hasn't as yet. Ford will conduct testing at the Ring and use it to develop a car, but they don't use it as a marketing outlet with regard to numbers and they have been clear in this regard.....you'll have to ask them why. We won't ever see Ring times for the GT500 unless they change their tune on this issue, or for any other Mustang for that matter.

No price leak.

We've been planning on announcing the price (and showing the Convertible) at the LA autoshow for quite some time!
