Hi Guys,
I had the same issue. Pedal would stick to the ground during aggressive driving. The Dealer replaced the clutch, flywheel and pedal. Still breaking the clutch in so I have not done any aggressive launches but it sure feels better and no sticking yet. |

I just had my clutch pedal replace via serive bulliten PI0486A. This is supposed to prevent issues with the pedal sticking half way when cold. Does anyone know the difference between the factory pedal the new one, part# 22867098?

Ok so an update after clutch break-in period:
I put about 500miles on the clutch and decided it was long enough to start doing some high rpm shifts and hard launches. I put it through the paces of some 4k+ rpm shifts, then redline shifts and it shifted flaulessly! Then I did a few clutch dumps and had no problems with a soft or sticky pedal. I don't know how the new pedal assembly differs from the original, but I do know that its working for me! The new pedal feels better than the original and the clutch feels for accurate. Not to mention I no longer get a stinky clutch every time I ride it a little like on a hill or parking.

So, basically instead of GM resolving the problem with the new clutch assembly in the 2012+, they decided to use the same trashy system they've been using, and only address the issue if people complain about it.
Well, I guess GM admitting there is an issue is better than getting jerked around like those of us with the 2010's. |

Like to know that myself. Dealer couldn't tell me, didn't know. Been 2 months since I did the pedal return spring kit upgrade and still engages/returns fine with no smell after hard driving, redline shifting or burnouts... I pretty much thought my clutch was fried (30k miles) what with the smell and sticking pedal but it's working fine... Be interesting to hear if all GM did was just a design improvement to the pedal return spring setup/system..... can't be much else. Suppose if they admit to a design flaw it's re-call time. Cheaper instead to make one 'prove' a known problem one unhappy customer at a time...

GM for the money we spent for are cars we definetly should not be having to replace factory parts with aftermarket parts for transmissions and clutch to make the car feel like it should have from day one. Oh and once you do that than GM is going to void your drivetrain waranty for aftermarket parts. What a catch22. GM you need to keep our faith in you and please come up with a fix soon so we dont have to cring every time we shift. For a brand new car I swear it feels like someone already put 100,000 miles on the transmission and clutch! Oh and then you read how great the ZL1 shifts and that really pisses one off. I guess spending only $43,000 on a car is not enough money to get a properly working clutch!

Just an update on my new clutch. It did not resolve the issue. Clutch began sticking again just a few weeks later. The dealer has the car again and I'm waiting for their feedback from GM on what the resolution will be.

Update for me as well:
Clutch has yet to stick on me however now that the temps have been dropping in the morning I am getting a cold 2nd gear grind. I'm not going to bother bringing it to the dealer. I just ordered IdealG's upgraded clutch master cylinder and will give that a try. Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk 2

GM Tech is having the dealer change the slave cylinder and throwout bearing. We'll see if that fixes the issue.

Hey guys would changing out the fluid help solve this. I notice when my car is cool and just started the shifter shifts like butter, but when the car gets rommped on the shifter gets tighter but still shifts. I am about to install stainless brake lines with Motul 600.

My 2012 V6 6 speed with 24,000+ miles has already had the trans pulled, the shifter rebuilt, new gears, new everything…supposedly. Just a month after that the clutch is slipping, it quit wanting to go in gear..just as before the rebuild. The dealer claims that the replacement clutch is $1,600 + other parts and labor. Yet I can find plenty of aftermarket clutches for $3-500. I am almost ready to trade it in and be done with it.

Hey I just came across this post and I am hoping some of you that had the new pedal assembly could advise on how that went. I just purchased my 2012 Camaro SS Convertible in last two weeks, on 3rd day (it was colder day then it had been) I cranked car to let it warm up went back in 5-10mins and my clutch was almost to the floor and wouldnt go in to reverse, car acted like it wanted to go into reverse, my rear view cam came on and all and would go into every other gear. My husband came out and played with it and finally got into gear. He said maybe it would warm up and I drove to work with pedal about 1/2 way down no grinding but some resistance going in to gear. I saw all these posts when I looked it up online but of course none of the four dealers I called were aware of issue (BS). I was going to take in to dealer to have them look at but that same evening someone hit us while at a stop light and I havent even driven car out of disgust until this week. Now the past two mornings same issue. It is colder now, and this only happens when I first crank car. I can pull the pedal up with my hand or foot. I am just worried at some point this wont work. I thought about aftermarket if that solves the problem, but dealer advised me against that for warranty issues ???? I am a little disgusted all the way around. I have wanted this car since 2011 Convertibles came back out had old 97 SS convertible I loved, but clearly did not do my homework while I was checking out these cars for this past two years at the dealer. I was unaware I would get such crappy mpg (My 4WD Tundra gets almost as good mpg) and I was unaware that these cars had no spare tire and fog lights that may as well be part of an appearance package. That just seems silly to me. We had 2012 Mustang GT w/ 6 spd that got 22mpg avg I am avg around 15-16mpg on this SS. Not huge ordeal but I would be happy with 20mpg. Anyhow, any insight on clutch issues and how to handle. Looks like I will be taking my car in for front bumper fix anyhow may as well have everything looked at.
