RPI door panels PITA

The quality on the paint job is top notch, however the installation is not so simple as they claim. I have never had to so much custom work to get something to fit in my car.

Just painted door inserts? What did you have to do that is custom? I have done 2 sets and found it pretty simple.

Didn't have a problem with mine, easy as long as you have the correct screws

The amount of dremaling I had to do to the door panel that came from RPI to fit into where the original door panel came from was unbelieveable.

I ordered a set of these from them last year. The paint quality was good but the fitment for the panels way horrible. It must be hit and miss quality. They are 3rd party fiberglass recreations made from a mold. The ones I got were so bad that the mounting holes were warped and funky and the fitment was way off.

I had a friend that works for a custom shop look at them and he agreed they were really bad and would take some serious "re-working" to make them fit. This is just a few of the dozen or so pictures I have of the fitment problems.

I contacted RPI about them several times and they ignored me. I finally found a phone number for them and they never answered it. They ignored me for a few months. Luckily I paid for them with paypal, so I was able to file a claim. A rep from paypal contacted me and asked for all the pictures and agreed they "appeared to not fit correctly." RPI ignored paypal's "request for information" for 6 weeks. So finally paypal forced a reversal and I got my money back after another 2 weeks...

I finally stripped my cloth ones and sanded/painted them. It took some work, but looks great and save a bunch of money. Screw RPI.

WOW took off my passenger side panel just now and not a single hole lines up where the stock panel goes. I am very disappointed with this product in terms of fitment. Looks like i have another 5 hour job ahead of me.

I battled mine too. I only had 4 or 5 holes that didnt line up on both panels and had to cut and dremel to fit. It was a PITA but they turned out good.

So after looking more at my passenger side door panel i found out that the amount of work needed for the panel to fit was unbelieveable. So now i have to call them and see if they will send me a new one.
