Underhood cover

Has anyone painted or done anything to the material on the underside of the hood? I want to change the Chevy symbol to a different color. The material is black. What would I use to that, or is it a waste of time? I wold want to make sure it lasts.

What is auto air top? I don't paint cars. I know Rustoleum, Duplicolor, things like that.

Auto air is a water based automotive paint from createx. any automotive Urethane or lacquer will work. so Duplicolor is fine. If your using a base coat clear coat system like Duplicolor paint shop you will want to top with the clear to protect the base coat.

By "underhood cover," are you referring to the hood insulation or the engine cover?
