Took an old friend out for a drive on Memorial Day.

He & his family came to visit. About mid-day we needed to make a run to the grocery store. Well, he’d never been in a ZL1, or anything remotely like it, so that led to a country road excursion. Got on it a few times & he could not believe the acceleration. Then we hit some twisties where at one point he says “I’m starting to get a little woozy...” That was only after three good corners

Hanging out on the deck later he said I should have taken his oldest daughter, my God-Daughter, for a ride. We were putting a few back by that point so it’s a next time thing.

The acceleration when that little supercharger starts jamming air into the cylinders can cause a certain level of sphincter pucker no doubt.

I like taking people for rides who have never been in a car like ours. Eyes wide open is all I can say. Hahaha

Me too.

He had been in my Mustang many years ago that pulled harder, but I think he had forgotten. The thing that impresses most with these cars is the overal, nay, complete, balance of power, stability & handling.

These ZL1’s are so damned fast now it’s mind bending. The only ‘issue’ I have with them is they are so well engineered that they hide that speed very well. 130 mph is super easy in these cars and feels like 80 mph in any other car. 80 mph and the car is simply yawning.. they have lost some of the drama and visceral feel until you get up to ludicrous speeds.

Exactly this. I took my Father-in-law for a ride to the grocery store in my ZLE over the weekend. He's never been in the car before and he asked me to "get on it" so he could see what its got. I was rolling at like 25mph, then I stomped on it in 2nd, shifted into 3rd, then let off and started coasting down an off ramp. When I told him we hit 105 he nearly crapped himself! People who drive average cars have no clue how fast these get into triple digits.

It ran mid-10’s on pump, high 9’s on 110.

With your mods I bet that came hella quick.

Add: We may have seen 130 after a fast winder that had a down then up-hill crest.

Great story. My friend took me for a ride in his Tesla and I pulled a neck muscle. LOL

I love jumping on Tesla’s. They think no one can hang with them. A dual motor 3 recently learned differently.
