This is the nature of marketing and the business model. Always improve and change to make you want something different. It is what drives our society. There will always be somethings new and improved. It's when you can accept what you have and enjoy the moment right now you will be truly happy. (Quite the zen moment)
That being said I get more looks from my 1le than any other car I've ever owned. It has enough power and handling.

I recently sold my 1LE. I was feeling similar to the same way you currently are.

I had full bolt-ons(bo white tb, kooks LTH, z28 CAI, JRE tune), and I was ready to invest 15k into my 1LE to take it's performance to the next level. However, I sat back and really thought about whether it was worth it to put that type of money into an antiquated platform. The zeta platform that the 1LE is built on is over 10 years old. Despite how amazing it handled(and it did), it always kind of irked me how big, wide and heavy the car was. Ultimately, I decided to sell my 1LE and save my money for my next car.

I love my 1LE.
I married my 1LE with no regrets.
Newer shinier more powerful chicks might catch my eye,
but my girl knows I come home to her every night.

I love my 1LE, just looking at it, I get all hot 'n bothered. Damn Winter!
If I could afford it (and convince my wife) , a Z/28, ATS-V, CTS-V or ZO6 would be grand.
The GT350/R have raised the bar and for the first time I built a Ford product on their website. But I am a GM guy, only ever purchased one non-GM vehicle.
The Gen6 SS is a fantastic starting point for a brand new generation. My brother-in-law has a 2013 Caddy ATS-4 and its is a outstanding car (to put it mildly). I love the steering and handling. It was the spark that pushed me to investigate the finances to get the 1LE. Now the Gen6 is built off of the ATS platform (Alpha)
As much as the Gen6 is getting accolades, the styling has not gripped me. But, based on potential performance alone, I am afraid when the Gen 6 1LE comes out I may have to sell my soul to get one.

Tomorrow evening, me and my bro-in-law are going down to my dealership. They have a '16 SS/M6/NPP. He is interested

Im in thr same boat sometimes..but man this 1LE looks so good! And the driving feeling is perfect!
New cars rock but heres what I think;
-6th gen exterior is off. Performance are great, especially with the help of auto trans(kinda turn off for me)
-GT350 is THE CAR to get IMO, but still a high price tag (Canada)
-C6 wonderful car but $$$
-Scatpack Chally or Charger great looking, confy, fast but heavy and not the same feeling for handling, far from 1LE.
-5.0 nice car overall but same performance as 1LE( straight line only!!) but on the heavy side too. Sounds like shitt too.

Nothing really justify to sell a 1LE to get the latest gadget car except GT350 and C6 IMO. Then you would have to invest $$$$

Get headers, UD pulley, ported TD, tune and remove some easy weight (rear crash support, lightweight batt, trunk shit, modified manifold intake and enjoy your new car!!

The game changer will be the next ZL1 or the next Z28. Styling is going to be a lot better. Too GM is obsessed in running a FI engine instead of accomplishing what Ford did with the voodoo engine...

Next ZL1 is goind to be expensive.

Im going for a C6 Z if selling mine.

I "re-sparked my love for E30", 2 decades ago.

Some...perhaps many, moaned and mocked, as the newer more powerful replacement models came in, and I staid faithful to my square box on wheels.

In it's final iteration, my E30, after 2.5 decades of ownership, had the same hp as Sledge when stock(with boost full down that is ), and it was the envy and even on the track.

35 years later, we now hear the oohs and aaaah on mainstream internet car review shows, of the E30's potential, but what did I know back then??

I plan to do the same with Sledge here. He is still a young pup, and he will grow in time. Trust me, I'll bring the point home in this thread right here, revival of the greatest thread from the dead of all time .

Nothing to re-spark for me, im still in love Now yes i would always like more power. Im 56 and this is my 1st V8, i dont have money and dont come from money. I am incredibly lucky to have such an incredible car and have nothing else. I live paycheck to paycheck, and will die with this car, but again what a bitchen car. Now if i only had back the 8 years and $30,000.00 of my life i wasted on a bad choice maybe something would be different.

I will stay with mine, great platform to build on. plus after it is paid for hello turbo or more cubes. then any new car won't be an issue. not many cars even new can do 1.17 G average, stickier tires that increases. add 8lbs of boost or 75 more cubes and not much is going to be able hang shy of a GTR

Plus I don't think the GT350 is going to be good street car, needs too much rpm to get into the powerband. Going to be a dog at autox or stoplights.

I'm guessing a bad car purchase.

Hey, you never know. With a high redline, they might have put short gear ratios.

On same boat . I bought car last summer with 1500 miles! 2 week later my friend( work at dealerships )call and sad they got silver c7 z51 package for 41k( something was wrong with engine and gm replace with new but guy just don't want it and bought brand new another one- go figure) so if I wait on my car for 2 week I can get c7 for dirt cheap ! But now I start add stuff to my car just bought for Christmas AGP full turbo kit with EFR 7670 and BMR stuff ( to eliminate wheel hop), gauges and hp tuners. So in month she should be 700+whp
