Thanks for everyones advice. There's another guy on here with the same blower as me in his C6, running 9.7 @144. His builder keep the compression stock when they upgraded the pistons/rods. I think I will be happy with 10.5:1, as it seems most common to keep compression near stock.

Molnars XD rods look very nice and keenly priced. Diamond make very good pistons too, as do JE. For some reason, I just dont like Wiseco so much. Probably not justified, but their pistons just never seem as well made as some other brands. If you have good fuel available, ethanol or whatever...by all means push for that high CR. If not, and it's a pump fuel setup, I'd be playing safe in the 9's. You'll never feel the difference, but the engine will nowhere near the edge. |

"Best" compression is dependent on multiple factors. There is no one answer for every build. Should look at dynamic as well as static, and the camshaft choice plays into things as well as fuel choices.

Yea i know, I should at least go 4.07, and the next guy says I should sleeve it, then the next guy says go iron, then aftermarket... In the end I always do what I want and usually get away with it! Thanks for the suggestions. Im sticking with 10.5ish

On a 1000hp build...you will never feel the difference in 1 point of compression, but your engine will be under less stress with the reduction. |

I am running 9.5:1 on my 427 on about 15lbs of boost on E-85 had I originally planned on E-85 it would be closer to 10:1. I also plan on going 20+lbs boost in the future though

Scat Pro H Beams
I'm bumping this thread back up, not for the compression ratio conversation, but to get everyone's opinion on Scat Pro H Beam connecting rods.
They are very affordable, and that usually means to stay clear. However, I reached out to Scat and they claim the Pro H Beam rods with arp 2000 bolts have a HP rating of "around 1000". Most of my google search results show people are satisfied with them, no carnage posts. While the H beam is probably heavier than the TSP Super I Beam, they are about $350 cheaper. While thats not a lot of money to most, I can do alot with it. Like arp head bolts and gaskets. Anyone actually running a Scat Pro H beam? Or have horror stories? I used their I beam in my sbf stroker and it still going....

Molnars XD's seem very keenly priced and are popular.
