Minutes after handing over the cashier check and receiving the keys I hit a wide open bit of Mexican freeway and stretched the legs, then pulled off an underpass and let all the smoke out of the tires. Oddly enough, that's the only time I have ever let out any smoke.

When I got the L99 back from the dealer with the clacking lifters replaced.
30,000 miles later, no leaks, no clacking. Now it's a keeper. |

The day I drove her home from Bradenton Ford....Yes, FORD.
She wasn't the newest or best model, she had cracked side stripes and was totally stock. But she was mine. All mine. When they handed me those keys I almost shit myself. I still remember the day I bought my 1995 LT1 Trans-Am, and that did not even come close to when I got my Camaro...and I have always been a Pontiac guy. Not to sound too corny here, but this website/forum is really the icing on the cake. Without it, I would know half what I do now and would never have been able to 'steal' so many awesome ideas. Thanks camaro5.com people!

Best Camaro day is when I drove my 2010 Camaro SS to the Woodward dream cruise one week after picking it up at the dealer.
Best car day ever was first day of Hot Rod Power Tour 2009 in my 1986 Trans Am with my brother. Best day ever is when I was saved by Christ, every day since then has gotten better and more joyful even amidst problems and severe health conditions.

Up until 2009, I was a die-hard Classic Mopar guy. I've owned them all and still have my '71 'Cuda. I was so disappointed when the new Challenger came out, so I bought a 2010 1LT Camaro, which was beautiful and everything the Challenger wasn't. I finally bought a 2010 Camaro SS a few years ago. My best Camaro moment was when I told my Mopar buddies back in 2009 I went to the dark side - the priceless look of disbelief and anger on their faces was awesome...! I still own my 2010 SS and love it as much today as I did when I bought it. They still have this look on their face when ever they see my beauty - Rob

Getting the title in the mail knowing that she was all mine (and my wife's). Close second was dyno day after installing my LT headers. It's amazing the difference a tune makes on these cars, especially an automatic.

The first week after I bought it...
I remember, it was just after Christmas, and I just had to drive it every single day. I really didn't have anywhere to go but just wanted to drive it. I kept looking out the window each evening... it was still hard to believe that I owned a new Camaro SS. It was a dream come true... Little did I know that years later I'd still be in love with the ride. Today, I enjoy it even more feeling and hearing the exhaust, that low profile - stable feeling on the road. More power than it had stock. After the cosmetic mods, specifically the ZL1 fascia... it felt like a brand new car again. I get compliments about it on the street, at gas stations... even on the freeway every now and then. Today, I went over to my car for my sunglasses as I was going to drive the pickup today... and found a little note that said - I want to buy your Camaro. I will pay Cash... and a phone number. Unfortunately not for sale, bud... |

boys...some good fun threads on the forums lately. Keep it going.
Best Car Day - the day I fired for first time the 406 poncho I built and all went well. No leaks, no burned garage etc... Best C5 Day - man, this keeps changing for me. I love this car so much. Speak to her everyday when i go into garage for something (it is stored..see location). The day I first seen it after going back and forth with the seller for months - i recall telling myself to play the game as opposed to looking like a high school kid in heat. The day I took traction control off and laid it into it pretty easy - didnt see much smoke, didnt hear much tire sound, however, rear view showed a beautiful, meandering, 75ft dual line of rubber. The first fall evening after a real hand wash with good products and some claying. Unreal I could go on and on but you get the point. |

For me there have been 3 specific days that I will remember.
1. The day I drove it off the lot on July 10 2010. I literally laughed for almost an hour while I drove around down town Vancouver BC. Back then these were still rock star status cars cause they were so new. Thumbs up everywhere. Still didn't sink in for about a month that I actually bought this awesome Camaro . 2. August 28 2014. The day I picked it up after having the supercharger installed. I thought I loved the car before but after that first drive with new Maggy I was even more ecstatic then I was before. Laughing again while I drove around getting used to all the new power. 3. September 16 2015. The day I got the car cammed. I thought there was no way the feelings I had got from the previous dates would be topped but they were. At that point I believed the car performed how it looked. Aggressive. I never touched or modified the looks, besides the mandatory lowering and different wheels. I still very much like the the original 5th gen style. Not too plain, not too aggressive. Just right. But after driving it over the years I thought the performance department could use some attention so that's where I went. My goal was to make it perform as aggressively as it looked which I believe I have done. For now. |

I am a pre-order guy and I took delivery of my SS on 6/17/2009 and I had never saw one on the road prior to getting mine. My wife and I went out to dinner and when we came out there was a crowd of 20+ people checking it out and taking pictures.
The 2nd best was when I paid it off! |
