I've actually *thought* about switching to an A6 as opposed to my M6, but I don't think I'd ever follow through, I'd get screwed too bad financially.

Why? The M6 isn't all it's cracked up to be (for me and what I use it for), and it drives me crazy in traffic. Just my IMO

My Wife has the A6 with Tap Shift which i drove for a little while to see what it would be like, its ok. I always wanted a stick in a muscle car, nothing like driving the M6 which is what i have now. I love it but i know its not for everyone. JMO

Tapshifting has zero appeal to me! I thought I wanted an auto since the camaro is alot bigger than my vettes, test drove it and liked it...until I drove the stick. Soooooooooo much more fun, IMO.

Maybe you guys should trade straight up?

OP, it's up to you. Just get what you want. You will take a hit, but if you can live with it, go for it.

And you should only have to pay sales tax on the difference between your trade and the new one. (But that's here, and not your state)
