335i is a very sterile car.

What about that same 335i against a 2013 LS/LT?

The LS/LT will get destroyed but there is a huge price difference and they are very different cars built for very different purposes and owners.

Humph, If only my car weren't so heavy, because I have it beat in the horsepower (323 to 305?) and looks departments...

I had a 335i Coupe. Great car that outperformed the numbers. Sorry but I never met a SS that could even come close. Drag strip maybe, but if that's your interest buy a Mustang.
Still, I'd recommend the Camaro in this case as 4 wheel drive is not Bimmer's forte (think Audi) and as has been mentioned maintenance outside of warranty is pricey.

You're kidding? The car outperforms the previous M3, pulls in a brilliant linear fashion, is a great long distance cruiser, makes a fun track car and is easily chipped. Not even close to sterile.

my buddy just traded in a 2008 335xi.
We had a few runs together before I got the engine mods done. He would get me off the line because of the AWD but I easily caught up to him and passed him. how the 09 335i compares to an 08 335xi, I can't say, but my stock SS was faster

IMO, the Camaro looks better and will get more looks. The BMW will cost a lot to maintain, and is fairly unreliable..

Honestly I think that 305HP rating is underated. Its more like 335HP for the 08-10 cars. Plus the torque output is about 305 ft lb's at like only 1800rpm and probably is closer to 345 at peak. Chassis dyno's have proved the factory HP rating to be pretty conservative. Still, short of a M series the 135/335 are not going to out perform a LS3 SS stock for stock when taking things like driver and traction out of the scenario but would put a hurting on the V6 and a drivers race for the L99.

3 series has no personality, it's refined and fast. Not exciting at all. It's like a german model that never smiles or has fun but looks good and is well mannered.

^Looks like an economy car and there is nothing special about it, besides the name brand. IDrive is a pathetic joke and head ache if you get that. The shifter is like a straw and doesn't feel connected to anything. It rode much worse then almost any car I have driven, it can best be compared to a Mini Cooper S. It's a poorly designed but well engineered car, for example why have keyless start if you have to put the key fob in the slot? Let's not even get started with mechanical reliability. IMO It's a sterile and not very exciting car. |
