New car/broke car!
Just recently purchased a 2010 Camaro SS with 50K miles. Before I even got time to really enjoy the new ride, I had a lifter go out and trash the cam. Got it ripped apart and cleaned, now ready to buy the new parts! But that's the problem, $3,000 to fix and tune this beast with a newborn and new job has become a hassle. It's been sitting for 4 months now. Any ideas of how to come up with cash or other alternatives? Created a GoFundMe just for the hell of it but if I was to post the link on here with the Camaro family I would probably get bashed! I need ideas. Never thought a broke down toy could be so depressing :(

Red beard I really appreciate your response! Besides the custom BTR cam that I'm going with, I need the basics. The build list I have includes:
Springs, pushrods, trunion upgrade, melling oil pump, all necessary gaskets, and oil catch can. Parts added up to $1600. Labor- $1000, tune-$500 |

It was built when I bought it. I'm going to build it right this time. They aren't very enjoyable when stock. I have a stock cam I could throw back in it but I only want to build this thing once

And I hope you're kidding about the go fund me . And if you're not then you're as worthless as the Snowflake that crashed his Gen 6 in the rain and started a Go fund Me trying to get it fixed. That thread got locked in the gen6 forum.

Well, this is probably only a small part of the avalanche of heavily modded and probably thrashed 5thGens being unloaded onto the used car market...They broke down and had plenty of their own problems from engine mods when relatively new....Now with more years and miles on them?...No thanks.
Buyer beware. |

On a good note though, if we had a section where you can do like a one time donation for a member up to a certain amount to help with projects, I'd be willing to help. But I know someone would take advantage of the generosity and ÷=%× it up for the honest folk.
