SO DONE WITH THIS PIECE OF JUNK

I have had 37 cars and trucks in my lifetime and about 12 convertibles, but this Camaro has been the biggest disappointment of all of them. 2012 45th soft top.
Im so sick of the alarms ,bells ,safety devises, cheap Chinese parts

1) trunk won't open, top won't cycle, remove tray in trunk Put the tray back, disconnect tray in trunk, trunk won't open, top up yes top down no,
2) start to drive with top down, alarms not secure, tried to find the alarm to throw it in the lake
3) This has been a year i have been trying to fix, I have read every post from here to China on this problem and done everything that was suggested
4) I am at my end and want it gone, biggest piece of crap I have ever owned, 38 sensors, relays, switches, everything goes through the module cant fix anything without going to the Dealer and being violated
5) This where I'm going next unless some one saves me from my stupidity, going to find that alarm noise maker and throw it in the lake and I'm going to remove the trunk release behind the rear seat used with the key and drill a hole in the door jamb and install it there , I have a roll bar and a wind screen and makes it crazzzy to get to it every time this happens

I agree mostly. Car is just so damn heavy and bloated.
I could not get past this after 6 years of ownership. Looks good but man!!
Just a porky pig. I’ve tried to convince myself how good of a car it was, the LS 3 motor etc, but just couldn’t get past the heavy feel of the big bottom girl

Wow JRF, sorry to hear about the difficulties with the top. I had a 2013 2LT and put 100K on that now I have a 2012 SS with over 100K and top is down nearly every chance I get. Never any issues with either car. (oh boy, now I've done it) I am not a track guy or someone who needs to get the most speed out of it on the street. So yes, whiles its big and heavy, its still a great car for my needs.

If you think it's heavy now, wait until the EV version.

One of my hobbies is rebuilding insurance totals of late model muscle-performance cars, wreck, flood Etc... Sometimes I run into cars like the OP, one problem after another until the owner cries uncle. When I come across cars like this in every instance it has been a simple fix once you figure out what's really going on. Almost always the problem is poor diagnostics by the repair shop or the owner. The OP might want to do some research and see if there is a competent shop that can find the issues.

You want to feel a fat bloated ride thats sits up like a 4x4....try a Challenger R/T with 245's all the way around.

Not enough tire for a car our weight 3850 try adding 500-600 pounds and at least 6 inches off the ground.

It took me a bit to get used to this car but it can handle the twisties...more like a linebacker than a running back though

Try some wider rims and some ZL1 sized rubber under her.

A supercharger definitely will keep you happy, I know I love mine.

True but up here in Governor Trudeau's Canukistan the cost of an SC is 10k or more plus install and tune so probably 15k to.18k if everything goes well.

I think I would take the money sell the Camaro and pick up a Gen 2 CTS V.

The prices are pretty stable at 40-50k up here.

You get a great car set up from the factory with all the supporting parts.

Depending on your power goals, CTS-V or ZL1 can be a good deal but the LSA equipped ones only have 580hp and 1.9L SC. I've seen guys hit 700whp without too many mods but over that and you are looking at a larger supercharger, fuel ect. Gen6 ZL1 is a whole different price point but starts at a higher level.

True. Honestly that is why when we were ready to buy a 5th Gen SS, I was looking for a well known dealership modified car and we were blessed to find our Berger SS and I didn’t have to do anything except buy the CARB sticker so I could register it here in Commiefornia.
