Unhappy Help! Can't get into the trunk

So my battery died died today in my 2012 v6 camaro LT with RS package. I tried starting the car up but then I heard a loud pop. I checked it out and the battery literally had exploded. I am getting a replacement battery in the morning but my issue is that I cannot get the car to unlock the trunk since there is no juice to do it since I removed the battery. I also cannot go through the back seat of the car since there is a custom sub woofer box and my key is also locked in the ignition.

Any ideas how to do this. I was thinking I could possibly hook jumper cables to the car under the hood but not sure if that would work. PLEASE HELP!

I think the U have the right idea of jumping the connections under the hood....I would push the button on the door for the trunk release ASAP & quickly remove the jumper connection under the hood right away, cuz I don't know how this will affect the existing fried battery connections....Good Luck...let us know!

I would just stand in front of the car and hit the trunk button on the key Fob. That way I'm a lot farther away from the bad battery and the quicker I can disconnect the cables.

You could try pulling the wires off the trunk release switch and connecting them directly to a AA or 9V battery. I have no idea if that would work, just spit balling...

OP, I agree with post 2 but if you have access to a portable jump starter/battery pack that might be safer.

Lol. Ive been there. If you can, use a set of jumper cables and hook them up to a good battery and the to the negative post and positive terminal under the hood. You will then be able to pop the trunk open.

Yes, there is a big positive cable that goes into the engine compartment to a post.
"CONNECT" positive there, and put negative to any ground, not the motor itself. I use the
fender metal as ground, or strut tower.

Better?

No need to actually try to jump the car, just get the leads onto a good power source and that should allow you to get power to the locks as you would normally not need the engine running to pop that lock.

With all the electronics in cars these days I try to avoid using jumper cables if possible. I would lower the back seat trunk access panel and just reach in and pull the emergency release handle. Trunk should pop open.

He cannot. It's blocked.

I normally use my jumper and hook it up to the posts under the hood, then like they mentioned earlier, press store release and get into the trunk.

He hasn't said yet if the door can be opened if not he can't drop the back seat section. Just do like most have said and hook up under the hood then you can get door open then hit trunk button.

If you can't follow this in the next 2 days forget it.

It must have worked he hasn't answered in 2 days unless he got locked in the trunk.
