^ You can go with our the sensors but the display will read low tire pressure.

All Season VS Winter tires. See this link for a test we did.

rudy- hope you don't think I'm beating a dead horse, just want to make sure I get the best tire for my needs. - for dry/non snow wear and handling, would you put the pirelli ice and snow over the goodyear GW3's? It's just the beginning of October, and already overnight low temps are hitting low 40's... So I will have to get the tires on sooner rather than later, but I don't expect snow until November. I'm thinking just going with the stock 18" 245/55's in the Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow would be best

Ordered the Scorpions. 245/45/20 all around. Thanks TireRack & Camaro5. This thread helped me make a decision quite a bit!

do you have a picture of these wheels? I'm running the camaro brembos on my g8 and its lowered so my winter wheel options are very limited.

Rudy,

For the Moda EB1 Bright Silver Paint wheels. Are the more center caps than what is listed on the tire rack site. I'd really like some bowties center caps, but would be happy with plain bright silver too. I am not really a fan of the Moda Logo on the center caps.

Hi, I have an SS and I want to do a fall/winter set up... I do NOT drive the vehicle in actual snow, but I will drive it in all temps as long as the road remains black. So, what is the smallest diameter wheel that will work for the SS package?

sorry if this is redundant but I just wanna make sure I have my facts right before I buy anything....I have a 2LT/RS

Can I run the same size tire on all 4 corners, even though the rear rims are wider? Should I keep the stock sizes?

My other question is what is the difference between the Blizzak LM-60 and the Blizzak DM-V1? I know the DM-V1's say their for light trucks and SUVs but would there be any issues running them on a Camaro? Which would be better, of those 2 Blizzaks and the Scorpions? Thanks

I'll answer some of your questions- You should be able to run the same size all the way around, so long as the tires are listed to fit the wider wheel size in the rear- the overall diameter will be off just a tiny bit from the front, but should be fine.

The DM-V1's are awesome traction wise, but you'll want to watch the speed rating. OE tires are Z's the DM-V1's are considerably less, which will equate to more sloppy handling. Yeah, they're winter tires, but they'll be a good bit different than what you are used to.

I'm leaning toward the pirelli scorpion ice and snow.

As a follow up to my original post above:
I went to my tire dealer last week to order the Conti Extreme Contact DWS tires for my SS. It turns out they are on "national back order" with no word when they will be available. Since I don't really need to drive my Camaro in the winter I may just wait until I can get them.

I would go with the Pirelli. Good handling (for a snow tire) and very good snow/ice traction. Very good tire

I highly recommend Tire Rack - they were there for me back in Sept '09 when I bought 20" Bridgestone Blizzaks with new Sport Edition ST4 rims from them - pic below. They delivered the tires/rims right to my Dealer with no hassles.

The Blizzaks perform fantastic - in fact have a better, quieter ride than the summer Pirellis which you wouldn't think given they're performance snow tires.

IMHO you can't go wrong with Tire Rack.

Unfortunately the chevy caps wont fit and this is the only cap I have. Its just for winter and the price is right.

20 inch is best for an SS because of the "roller skate" Brakes.
