Does anyone have a spare tire? Whether or not it is nearly bald after you put new tires on or not. I just need a tire to drive my car home 10 miles so it doesn't sit at the dealer for another 2 days waiting for the tire.

I have a spare rim to put the tire on...but if someone has one already mounted that would be absolutely fantastic.

I'm no help on the spare. Surprised no one has commented back with one though. I guess everyone sells their wheels when they upgrade?

I would make sure the dealership added me a new rocker for that. I'm sure it cracked the plastic. You would think they would know how to properly jack up a car. Kills me the stupidity you see from service sometimes.

Thanks guys. Found a local used tire shop and got a toyo tire for $50 mounted and balanced. Headed back to the dealer to put the tire on myself and leave.

Gonna be 2-3 days for the continentals to get here.

Is the dealer replacing the tire for you for free through the roadside program or are you having to pay for it too? I'd be interested to know how that process works for the two months I have left of my powertrain warranty lol

Well I tried to not give the dealer any business so I went to discount tire who is a continental authorized dealer. The guy there looked at my tire and measured to make sure I hadn't wore off more than 2/32s and thankfully I had 9/32ds left which was good and I had bought the tire less than a year ago. He calls and talks to them and they told them they would cover it 100%...gave him a claim number and that was it.

Once they couldn't get the tire and the dealer said they could in 2-3 days we just took the claim number and gave it to them. Supposedly they get the tire and continental pays them for it.

But just to be clear, this tire is getting replaced through continental there is no GM involvement other than the free tow I got to the dealer from Chevy roadside assistance.

Let me know how it goes. Hopefully I'll be able to go next year if you're making the trip again.

JT I didn't think the dealership would do anything I was just wondering how all that worked. They towed me for my transmission when the output shaft broke at 3800 miles, but that was a gm warranty item. Glad to know it worked out other than the inconvenience.

I'll confirm that it worked out well once the tire is on my car and I'm driving away without having to pay for anything other than install.

Apparently any tire shop can call your tire manufacturer and get info/request factory warranty..but a lot don't tell you that because they just want to sell you another tire.

Too late for the SIM. It's been back and forth on I-20 and chipped up right away.
I dont know about the system Jeff mentioned, but we have an ACE5 member that works at a sports car paint shop in Alpharetta. I have to look them up.

Hello,

Any luck tracking down the ACE5 member that works at an Alpharetta paint shop?

Thanks
