This lower (higher numerically) ratio rear drive gear will increase effective rear wheel torque multiplication in 2010 - 2013 SS Camaros by 13% (over standard 3.45 ratio) in a manual tansmission-equipped car, and 20% (over standard 3.27) in an automatic-equipped car. This gearset is the original equipment ratio found in the 1LE 2013 Camaro package.

NOTE: This change will affect the indicated vehicle speed. Recalibration is required for accurate speedometer reading.

I'm using 3.91 gears with all the below mods and Nitto NT05 tires 315 / 35 rear. No issues at all

3.91 gears will increase torque multiplication across all gears. Or in laymans terms, your engine will spin faster in the same amount of time as it would with the stock 3.27 gears. I think that the car will be hard to hook in 1st gear, maybe half of second, just my speculation. Now you'd hit top speed quicker because your engine will RPM quicker.

You shouldn't see an increase in RWHP, in fact those gears will eat up a little HP.

IMO the gears would be fun from a roll.

They would have zero affect on your top speed. Our cars have the gears to go over 250mph. We just don't have the HP or aero to get there. They would affect your cruise rpm, thus MPG. By how much, I don't know.

I too am considering 3:70 gears for my A6.

Once installed, won't the upshift and downshift MPH speeds in each gear be effected? Meaning, a custom tuner would need to adjust the MPH in at least 1-4 and downshifts in each gear too? My assumption is yes.

Yes. For the auto, the car will need to be tuned and have the shift points adjusted for all gears

Ok. Sounds like mostly WOT road testing, tuner and I after gears installed.

Seems with the A6 upshifts/downshifts controlled by MPH, utilizing HP Tuners programming. We did the same on previous tunes, and with gears will need to re-adjustments again.

Hopeful I could find someone within my area, Orange County with an A6 whom has swapped out gears, see how the car responds afterwards.

No doubt each WOT upshift is much quicker, I gather feels like much more torque when the transmission shifts too. SOTP feeling is much more aggressive.

How about the down shifts at WOT? For example, while driving at say 35 to 75 mph while cruising and the computer downshifts at mid throttle to even better WOT.

I JUST picked my car up today with the 3.91s and honestly I'm not impressed yet. Now, I was babying it (mostly) and I didn't have a new tune yet, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting. I've put 20 miles on the gears so far so maybe after the tune and some more miles it will get better.
