Droid Torque app

Check this out, you can download the free version or buy the Pro app for 4.95 to your droid. And get the bluetooth OBD II module and then your car will send the info to your phone.

Revs of rpms
Speed
Acceleration
Coolant temp
Oil Temp
MPG

It also has a code reader to tell you if you have any errors from the CEL.
And you get a timer to do a 0-60, 0-100, and 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile times
I got the OBD bluetooth from Amazon. $29.95. There are several different sellers on Amazon, get the one from "Goliton" I got one and it wasn't compatible with my car.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005C6KIVS
Here are some screen shots I took of them.

I have it and it works awesome. Make sure you download the track recorder and shift light add on for Torque. Also, if you have a small flat head screw drive, gently push in on the top of the OBD2 port to release it from the hangar and tie wrap it under the dash so you do not accidentally hit it with your foot!!

No problem!!

Did you add in the extra gm pids? If not,on the main menu of torque, hit your menu key on the phone, go to settings, scroll to the bottom, select Manage extra Pids, Hit menu key on the phone again, select add predefined set, select the section that has GM in hit. Have fun!!

I'm hoping my bluetooth scanner shows up today. I can't wait to play with this.

Question

Need help here with this Lg Phoenix android phone and the torque app.I when to the market for apps on my phone. Went to categories then to transportation and found the widget for torque lite obd2 & car app and down loaded it and the screen says it is installed. Went the choose app to place on home screen it says, torque big, torque small, torque odb toggle.
I entered torque small, it went to a screen and told me application not installed to go to market place and buy it. I enter the torque toggle an it put it on the home screen But all that does nothing. So went back an got the free torque obd check So why can i not get the one i paid for to work?
or is the free one OK? It has a lot of gages to select from. So if i keep the free one then all i need is the obd blue tooth for the car? help me out here???? Does all this make sense??

Does that huge bluetooth dongle get in the way of your legs?

Lol, I drove the distance of a 1/4 and would be 98 seconds.

Cowboy, did you restart your phone after you installed it? Its just like a computer, and needs a restart after installed.

The difference from the free one to the paid one is, the paid one has alot more option and more details for you about your car. Your paid one should work just fine. And yes, all you need is the bluetooth obd module to make this work.

The bluetooth is a little in the way but there is a fix.Use a small flat head screw driver to gently push the tab at the top of your OBD2 plug to take it out of the bracket. Then tie wrap the plug with the bluetooth module under the dash. Took 5 minutes and it is completely out of sight.
