Wheel question...Has this happen to anyone...?
So i bought my 2013 ZL1 brand new. In the last six and half years i have not had the need to replace my tires until today (18k miles). I discovered today that 3 out of my four wheels (black 10 spokes) are 20x10's and only one of my wheels is 20x11 (verified via the GM stamping on the inside of the wheels). So I have been driving with mix matched rear wheels since owning my car. I have never had it serviced where the wheels needed to be removed, i put wheel locks on my wheels months after taking delivery of my Z, and my car is always garaged. I can only conclude that this occurred during the build of my Z at the plant. Has anything like this happened to anyone? Anyone think there's any recourse even contacting GM about this? And does anyone have a single OEM 20x11 black 10 spoke they have laying around they want to get rid of for cheap? Thanks in advance everyone.

I work for GM and I would like to see you get this resolved. I am told the first step is to go through your dealer. If the dealer does not handle it appropriately let me know and I will see what else can be done to get you the correct wheel. Feel free to PM me. #IWorkForGM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Someone else on here a couple years ago got a 1LE like that as well.
Certainly can't remember the name, just the incident. They caught it very early so the dealer replaced it.

What about the tires sizes? Are the two rear tires the same size and the correct size?
I'm guessing this was a simple FU at the factory. Unfortunately, way too much time has passed to get GM to replace it under warranty. I'd bet that even if you had opted for the 'Wheel & Tire' warranty, that it still wouldn't be covered. Not sure about the black wheels, but be thankful they aren't the optional polished wheels that retail for roughly $1,000 each. Several years ago, I bought a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires for my 2013 ZL1 and had the dealer install them for me. A few days later I was at a local car show and a young kid came and told be my tires were on backwards. What ??? I just blew the kid off, but later I checked, and sure enough, the arrows were pointing on the wrong way, both front tires and the rear tires. Ironically, you could see where they had used chalk to mark the tires left and right. Turns out is was a simple mistake by a new young guy at the shop. For a beginner, he made a simple error in figuring out which side of the car is the 'Left' side. He hadn't learned yet that it's based on sitting in the drivers seat. He was probably standing in front of the car when determining which was the 'Left ' side . Now he has learned. A simple mistake. |

I bought my 2014 ZL1 new and while cruising on the Hot Rod Power Tour got a flat rear tire. First time I had really paid attention and it had a 285 instead of the 305 on the right rear. The worst part is I had it to the dealer because it would always torque to the left when hard on the gas, they did an alignment and found nothing wrong. When the rear tires got replaced (wasn't easy through the dealer) the torque steer issue resolved itself, imagine that.

Thanks for everyone's input so far. To answer the tire question, no it was a 305 tire in the rear from day 1. I never noticed a difference until I just put the 315 tire on. It was a huge noticable difference with the 315 on as it looks like the side wall was overflowing from the rim.

If it had the right tire on the wheel, that again points to a mistake made at the factory.
