I'm posting in both of them... and nearly every other thread as well...

Thanks a lot Elie. Lots of good info. Road racing is something that looks like a ton of fun and I would like to get into but its something that's hard to get into because I don't know anyone doing it.

Same here. Always loved road racing, auto-x, TSD's. I used to be on a team that did pro-rally (hense my avatar name)

I will set my SS/RS for Road racing. Getting pedders suspension. I have no interest in 1320.

NHIS and Limerock have open track days a couple times a year each. That's what I can't wait for!

HPDEs are much more expensive, much harder on a car, and much less available. I certainly wouldn't want to do it with a car that I need to get me to work/class/home for the foreseeable future.

The thing about drag racing is that for 20-30 bucks a night, I can go make 3-8 passes, for 3-5 nights a week, for at least 8 months a year. I don't chew up pads, rotors, or tires nearly as fast.

I'd love to do a lot more road racing and auto-x. My GTO has a full Pedders Track II on it. I wanted a canyon carver; something that would outhandle my old G35 Coupe. However, seeing as it's also my daily driver, that'll have to wait and my competitive driving comes in the form of trying to cut 2.0 shorts on street tires.
