The GPI subframe is about 25lbs lighter than the factory one and has a lot more room to get to things. I was able to swap out the steering rack without lifting the engine or dropping the cradle. That wouldn't be possible with the factory rack IMO.
It doesn't have the rear crossbar that some cutout or make it bolt in for oil pan access.
It also doesn't have sway bar mounts and thats fine for me. I haven't had the front sway bar on since before putting the Viking coil overs on last year and quite honestly I cannot tell a difference without the sway bar. That would be different if I did road course or anything like that I would imagine.

Total weight reduction with sway bar removed is 37lbs on my scale.

A few more pics of the cradle with pretty much everything installed except the front fascia.

Wow nice build . Interested to see your gains from the stroker install stroker kit. What compression ratio did you end up going with? Just dropped my LSA off @ central FL engine & speed for the same treatment. Interesting enough had the exact same issue with the same solution on the cam retaining bolts, going back with ARP.

Thank you ZL1_Chris! Those bolts are always a PITA.. lol.. I think the compression ratio is 11.4:1 if i remember correctly.

This was my day yesterday

Left the house at 3:30am to drop the car off at GPI and had planned to come back home empty. But when I got to GPI, Kevin said to hang around as he thought they would knock it all out. Sure enough they did and was loaded up and headed back home at 3pm.

This was my view point for the morning -

Ben finished the dyno tuning (7 pulls) around 10:45 and the results are - 875hp & 843tq. the graph below is overlayed with the previous results from last years mods. So gained 123hp and 218ft lbs of torque. 16lbs of boost out of the Mag Heartbeat.

After lunch Ben knocked out the street tune and finished things up with the tune.

Anyways the combo is now a GPI forged 416 with GPI custom grind cam, 3 belt 10 rib LSA drive w/10" lower and 3.20 upper pulleys and same GPI ported heads I had before. Added the bigger DSX aux pump, FIC 1650 injectors, 2" Kooks headers, BMR (Black Market Racing) intercooler reservoir, Atco heat exchanger and a second Varimax cooling pump.

Really enjoy going to GPI as I always learn more while I am there.. Great people & treat you like family. Got to see some cool cars they are working on along with one that has the Skyview rear solid axle conversion that I'm interested in for a future mod.

Now to change the oil and put the 17"s back on for some driving around once the rain stops.. Oh, and it sounds amazing too. I will get a video uploaded sometime soon.

Very nice!!
I just wish the front cradle had provisions for a sway bar. I realize it’s set up for more drag racing but very cool.

Thanks Scotty D!

On the sway bar, I took mine off last year when I put the front coil overs on and haven’t missed it one bit. Keep in mind I run skinnies all the time and it still handles better than I would have ever expected without the sway bar much less the skinnies. One of these days I need to put the 20’s back on and see what it feels like.

I’ve done a lot to my suspension to make it handle like it’s on rails
And I push her hard through the turns ! I can take an off ramp doin 80 and she stays flat . So I think I’d need mine lol
