Here's the 3.0 with the integrated exhaust port.

no thanks. many of us are pushing 325@crank with CAI & exhaust anyway. And we can still go LT if we want.

Exactly. You may get more from the factory, but leave some on the table with aftermarket additions because of the single port.

They need to bump all of their engines. I know they can do so much more. The current 5.3 in the silverado is a good example. It has ls6 heads on it and makes a measly 315hp. With an ls6 cam, lift springs, rods, intake and the proper tune to go with and you can easily get in the 350+ hp range. If dodge can get 390 horsepower and 407 lb-ft of torque on of a 350, why can gm do better.

So in a nutshell this is a beefed up version of the 3.0 --> Disappoint
Integrated exhaust manifolds. So much for shorty's, long tubes, etc. --> Disappoint

I'll gladly keep my LLT.
Are these numbers official or real? I bet they get an other 1 mpg city and hwy, maybe even 2! That will be the pay off I bet.

Before CAMAR0 took down the info, those were the Numbers off of the GM Powertrain site.

Edmunds says there will be a performance suspension option in 2012 for the V6ers as well...is this also what your refering too? Hope performance gearing comes with that as well.

After reading it doesn't say v6 it specifically. I think that's a general overview of whats new.

What's New for 2012

For 2012, the Chevy Camaro ZL1 debuts, bringing back a legendary name and pavement-ripping performance by way of a 550-horsepower V8. On the other end of the spectrum, the Camaro V6 gets more power, a new performance suspension option, a rearview camera and new wheel options. All Camaro models will benefit from a much-needed interior revamping.

So let me see... Some of you guys are ok with not being able to install shorty's or long tube headers just for 15-20 more horse from the factory?

Since the 3.0L is light on torque and the torque and power are veryhigh in the rev range can we deduce that the new 3.6L will be the similiar since it will have the same inhead single port exhaust?
BTW. I have the 3.0L in my '11 CTS and you defiinitely feel a lack of torque but if you put your foot into it it will go and kickdowns are pretty strong. So there is definitely 270hp- which you mostly dont feel pulling away from a stop light.

======================
That intergrated exhaust port will blow away any type of headers you will ever put on it. It also reduces weight and leaves more space.
