I am 20 and I just learned how to drive a stick. I am glad I ordered it on my camaro, its just fun because you have more control and it sounds louder than an auto. Autos change gears really low so it does rev up as much and sound as cool.

With the standard trans you are always in control of the rpm/gear. You can also in the auto but have to switch to competition mode todo so.And some like me just luv shiftin the gears

A stick is fun because it's a challenge - it's about precision. Yes, anyone can push a pedal and move a gear handle between slots. But not everyone can do it consistently well. It takes skill and, perhaps, some talent to do it well.

Also, when I drive a stick I feel like I'm part of the car, a part that's as important as any mechanical part of the car, because the better I shift the better the car performs.

When I'm driving, I don't need any more "challenges" I'm just trying to stay alive! lol
When I push the pedal down, it's performing its best. lol

Plus stock for stock..........no difference in performance.

There's just something to being one with the car with a manual that the automatic just doesn't do for me.

Driving a manual also keeps you occupied and you don't get bored driving.

Cool.... Manual is the best, and the V6 sux! Let's get that one going again.Seriously, I have the LS3, and love it. Do I sometimes wish it was an auto....NO!

Because Real Men shift their own gears...

Automatics are for woman so they can concentrate on the important things while driving… Combing their hair, putting on make-up, yapping on the phone...

Yeah, I said it…

Let the thread begin!

Also....another thing most people don't consider is the extra RWHP. Most A6 Camaros are dynoing about 330 to the tire where M6 are dynoing about 375 to the tire. So even though the flywheel HP is only 26 the RWHP difference is about 45 or so due to the difference in drivetrain loss. So....effectively the M6 has a good bit more HP than the A6.

All that is in addition to the fact that shifting gears is WAY more fun IMO.

All about the driving experience in my opinion. Requires more attention than an auto, more effort too. My DD is an auto - fine for errands and groceries. When I get in the SS, it's to DRIVE and I prefer the involvement the manual transmission requires.
