Thanks Brother. Wishing you all success, big power and minimal issues.

When it comes to these things the waiting is hard, but you just want it done right and so nothing else to do but wait patiently. A racing crew could probably have it done right in a couple hours. It can be done both quickly and right, but if you have to pick one you hold your tongue, flip calendar pages and be patient. My experience anyway.

I used to do this type of work in the winter when I lived in Michigan. Now that I live in DFW (and likely you in Florida) summer is the worst time of year to be out, thus probably the best time of the year to get project work done, so that makes waiting in June-September better than waiting any other months. Silver linings. I can drop top all winter.

Got some pics bud? What modifications did you have to do to make it all fit? I know the hood won’t fit. Will you all be making a plastic or metal intake? It does sound mean AF.

I know the specs BUT an install tells exactly.

What intake did Fountain use for the engine dyno testing?

I decided to go Procharger F1X. Should make an easy 1,400 RWHP and the same basic labor to install it all....and total price as the 2650. A guy in New Zealand just built an all out 427ci with the Harrop 2650....could only get 1,130 RWHP and that was spinning it well past the TVS recommendation. A2W intercooler, big cam, Mast heads, I think a 105mm TB and ported SC'er intake, 2" headers and the 2" Harrop spacer.

Still kickass RWHP, but just not enough these days.

He didn't. Ran it without an intake.

One of my concerns is fan noise. On some blowers it can be an irritatingly overwhelming (and not pleasant like engine noise) inescapably dominating force to negatively affect every driving experience. The F1X is a sorta big blower. It’s power seems exactly what I’m seeking. I could leave it at around a grand but have the option to go higher should I decide to with a pulley change. (Reliability is suspect). I just worry about that vacuum cleaner sound ruining the experience. I think a roots will be much quieter. I can’t say for sure though. Of course that’s relatively easily figured out for sure by hearing some cars with each installed, which is on my to do list. I’m just narrowing down the other factors first to make sure I’m seeking to hear models that pass the power/fit/reliability, etc considerations first.

Have you considered sound? Have you listened to the units before you decided, or will that be a possible surprise for you?

Ok cool. The intake they use in Aussie for the GTO is really good....they picked up I think 24 HP by switching to that over an opened up TB........

Well, I listened to a bunch of videos. I am going to drive by the shop that will be doing my install to listen to the owners Trans Am with an F1-A Procharger.
I really really wanted to use a roots style......but they just don't make the power I want...not even close. And they do get hot fast, the intercoolers just cannot keep up after multiple runs. There's zero heat problems with a Centri SC'er.

The Harrop 2650 will fit my car, but without nitrous its only going to make about 1,000 RWHP. Around my area.....that leaves me getting whipped by many many cars. With the F1X I'm not sure which car will beat me after its installed...if I can hook....lol

Since it will be my fun car only...and no longer my daily driver.....I do not care about the Procharger squeal......

I have to switch my entire rotating assembly into a new LSX iron block so my Brodix heads with bolt up with 6 bolts per cyl instead of 4.....otherwise the F1X will be limited to about 950-1,000 RWHP.

My 4L80E just got "STUFFED" into my car, I'll take it for road tuning on Friday. Then start the LSX interal parts swap soon.....get that engine in and install the F1X package.
