2012, Ordered from factory, took delivery Oct. 2011, Modded with 4,000 miles on it. Never been driven in the rain.
Now has 12,000 miles on it. Not driven daily as I have several other vehicles and a company truck.

Or it could be we know how to drive but are too busy with other things. And most like myself park our car during the winter months too. Funny how people constantly rip on those that own a low mileage car. Yet sooner or later I've seen the same people looking for a low mileage car.

I agree. We have fairly long winters here in Washington so the car sits in the garage covered with a battery tender connected. Lots of pride having a low mileage car that has been taken care of. Still looks new. In fact you can still smell the leather interior.

At some point as a car reaches collector or classic or vintage status the concern about mileage diminishes. The overall condition grows in importance. Cars are meant to be driven, and if they aren't so much can go wrong: Seals can dry out, rubber can deform, gas can go bad, insects and rodents can establish themselves. Experts tend to agree that a vehicle should be driven at the very least a few times a month, and preferably at least once a week or every few days. Actually driving it is best, rather than simply turning it on and leaving it to idle for a while.

Bought it September 2018 with about 350 on the clock, now sitting at 7300. Didn't leave the garage much the past year.

2012 SS, took delivery 11/25/2011. Just hit 11,000 miles when I put it away for winter.

It's never seen rain or a wet road, I'm never selling it, I'm going to keep enjoying having a brand new, showroom condition car as long as I can!

Although auto engineers have for years unanimously included in their designs cars that will not melt in both sun, rain, and snow. I can understand someone who would buy a work of art to hang, say, on a wall. But not a vehicle.

The monster engineering that goes into building a semi-truck allows them to last for upwards of 750,000 miles. On average the lifetime of a semi is 15-16 years. You are not confident that GM did not apply that same "monster" engineering to their cars? I recently sold 2 50 Mercury coupes. I have no idea how many miles they had on them but both ran great, were good daily drivers, even in the snow and rain, and sold for a buh-tlode of cash and I had fun driving them in the meantime.

Another example. The 1987 GN that I own has a 99,999 miles odometer. Unless you are the original owner, like me, you as a second or later buyer would have no idea how many miles the car has clocked. Mine reads 75K miles but has 175K miles. I theoretically could sell that car as a low miles and none would be the wiser. And, yes, that car has seen its fair share of winter miles. You too can do it! Give it a try!
