Engine detonation - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I have a 2014 Camaro 2SS 6.2l L99 and getting engine detonations when under a load. Only have 91 octane available and have changed gas companies to see if it was a gas problem however no change. I'm running longtube headers w/ high pass cats and cold air intake. Wondering what the default engine timing is to verify if mine is off. Running a canned tune from my SCT X4 tuner. Any help would be of great assistance. TIA

Who did your tune? I would start there and contact that person.

I had issues with a bunch of knock retard using canned tunes. A real dyno tune is worth the investment.

canned tune is likely the issue. At the very least have dynosteve or Jannetty racing provide you a real tune, if there is an issue they will ask you to datalog so they can see what is going on and fiz the issue if it is within the tune.
Also make sure your headers aren't too close to the frame. False knock from them hitting the frame under hard accel or hitting a bump will cause knock retard issues.

Thank you all for your input and I'll see what my next step is going to be. Had issues with the headers hitting the frame before, not sure if it's doing it again. I appreciate everyone's assistance.
