Camaro X Pipe

I ordered a Summit Racing X Pipe for my 2014 Camaro SS. Was wondering if it will make my exhaust louder or quieter?

Depends on your setup. I had shorty headers...hi flow cats with stock resonater and muffler delete. It was loud but became alot louder on I swapped in an x pipe.

Assuming all else is stock, if you have the L99 automatic and are replacing the stock resonator with the x-pipe, the car will be louder. If you have the LS3 manual trans, there is no large resonator, it may not quiet the car, but you might a get a deeper tone as the x-pipe causes noise cancellation of some of the higher pitched tones, as I understand it.

Stock H pipe (for LS3/LSA cars) is more of a lublublub pulse at idle/cruise and a throatier deeper roar at WOT, where-as the x-pipe has much less of a pulse - it's real smooth, little more exotic sounding. It turns into a savage scream at WOT. X-pipe may be a bit louder than the H. The L99 has the weird cross-over/resonator - ditching that certainly will increase the volume.

The x pipe will definitely give you more sound.

Yea - when you ditch that giant resonator you'll really notice it.

I ditched the L99 resonator for a stock LS3 exhaust and it has a great sound.

I was told today that increasing the pipe diameter will help get a throatier sound.
